The Sirhowy

This isn't the best wetherspoon you'll ever go in. Don't know what they do to the real ale in here, but it's always lousy. The idea that they buy beer coming towards the end of its natural life is prevelant here. Often tasting bland and nothing like it should. People who say the ale in here is good have absolutely no idea what it should taste like. They buy it because its cheap. Many 'spoons I've been in don't have the same problem, but its been like this for years in blackwood. Don't know what the lager is like because I don't drink the chemically processed rubbish! The food is pretty naff, but it is wetherspoons and if you go to one expecting quality food, then you're more foolish than you think you are. It factory processed microwave food! What do you expect? Can be extremely busy on weekends, but it does die off around 10pm, when people go into town to drink in even worse places!

will never set foot in there again. my steak (if you can call it that) smelt and tasted like dogs mess. when i told them they offered me another meal, NO THANKS. DIRTY GLASSES WITH LIPSTICK ON THEM? WHY? the tables are always sticky, why? because they dont clean up.

what are you on about steveo, seriously way too much time on your hands. witherspoons is not clean, dirty glasses and tables.

the beer/larger never tastes the same as other pubs or even if you have a second pint in there. as for the bar staff, my favourite has to be pat. shes always very friendly and happy to help.

i love it there to be honest but have only 2 grumbles.

1 - why cant they open an 9.00 am as I normally have to sign on around then so its only the 1 bus trip.

2 - its a shame the newspapers have been taken off the walls in the bogs and replaced with witherspoons job adverts - i want to drink there not frigging work there (as I dont work)
