This restaurant is exceptional.
It has a fab friendly atmosphere -I find some places quite abrasive to visit despite nice food- but here you get real people, with the right attitude.
If you want anything, you just ask, and they will sort it for you. They cater for food intolerances - just have a word with the head chef, so it is where we can go with our coeliac friend.
The food is out of this world. They have a buffet table or you can order off a set menu, but the buffet is what I go for. It has several dishes, so you get to try a mixture. They don't make massive cauldrons of the food though like other all you can eat buffets do, they make smaller amounts and replenish them regularly which I prefer as you don't have stuff sitting out for ages. It does mean however that you should make regular trips back and forth the table, so you don't miss out on a dish, and if a dish you are after is running low, you just give the staff a shout and they will give you an eta on when the refill is coming.
I've been there for both small events with my partner, and big parties of about 20 people, and have never been disappointed.

It was a bad experience from the second we walked through the door.
A miserable Bar-man didn't acknowledge his 7.30 pm party arrive, nor did a forgetful front of house waitress come to see us either. But the place was well decorated, shame you cant eat the fixtures and fittings.
She came to us after about 5-8 mins, and told the miseble bar guy who said grumpily "just put em over there".
The buffet bar had various selections on it, but nothing labelled, so a guessing game for some of the selections.
we ordered chips to come, but they came after a long wait, once we said are our side orders coming.
One of the things that got to me the most was sampling the buffet bar gently, thinking taste some first and go back for a plateful later.
when I went back for a proper plateful the food down to the dregs, some even empty pots, and I clicked that no more was coming.
To end my rant i'd say that it was over priced food, with poorer service, £100 for four people with a few cokes, a pint of beer and a bottle of French wine.
I know now why I haven't been before and have no intention of going back.
