Pen y ghent cafe
  2 / 10
We arrived (a family of 4) to do the 3 peaks walk we decided to one peak a day and see what the walks were actually like and to consider doing the 12 hour challege in the future. We went to the cafe on first day and the general impression was were they were very friendly and willing to give help and cannot be criticised in that way in any respect. We returned a few days later and purchased a treckmate rain coat, when tried on for second time, still new, it was noticed that the stiching was unraveling in many places. So we returned to the cafe the next day planning to get a refund. We apprecaited that it wasn't down to the cafe that the jacket wasn't right and planned to purchase another type of coat. We were legal entilted to a refund and they simpley refused, even a replacement was not offered. They seemed to be under the impression we intented to return the item and only needed it for the walk, in the past we have purchased many items at camping shops whilst on holiday and they have lasted months. We found this out of order and despite saying we could take the issue further legal fees would clearly have exceeded the price of the jacket. I would highly recommend the walk to anyone it is very enjoyable and the peaks arent as a high as they look! so don't be put off. There is nothing wrong with the cafe in general and its a good location for clocking in for the walk, just don't purchase any clothing from them unless you have money to loose. The shop workers clearly new the jacket was not of satisfatory quality if it was they would of happyily excahanged it or gave a refund and sold it on.
