Hillcrest Guest House

I booked four nights at the Hillcrest B&B because it was all I could get on short notice. Complete shambles of a place and needs completely re-furbished. My room was on the top floor (in the roof!) The room was absolutely tiny! A single bed along one wall and sideboard with the smallest T.V I have ever seen....on the opposite wall and there was barely enough floor space to put my overnight bag!! The room was freezing (surely you would put the heating on if you were expecting a guest arriving?) furniture and bedding were all miss matched and everything in the room had seen better days and needed replaced and up dated. I found the owner/Manageress quite rude and off hand. A friend had came up to my room to say Hi, I had come a long way and was glad to see her. To my horror, the Manageress banged on my door to remind me that guests were not permitted...I was so embarrassed. I will not be back and urge you to steer clear!

We arrived quite late but we were assured that we would be delighted with our room. Unfortunately the room was a disaster. The bed was not full length to accomodate the tiny cramped room, my husband (not particularly tall) was unable to lie straight. The beige velour headboard was heavily stained as were the patched up walls. The curtains were in a league of their own and held up by an imaginative combination of curtain poles (3) and curtain track!!!!!!! The wiring was definately dodgy with a 4 socket extension dangling in mid air from the tv/video unit. We stayed only one night of the 5 booked and left as soon as we could.
