Paris House after Peter Chandler
We have often dined at Paris House over many years. The food has always in our opinion been excellent.Chef Peter Chandler has sadly passed away. The young chefs trained by him are doing an excellent job and deserve to succeed. We wish them well.

Never Again.......................
  1 / 10
We visited Paris House as a group of 6 for a Saturday lunch to celebrate my wifes birthday in April 2009. The surroundings are beautiful it has to be said. However, unfortunately the atmosphere was lacking and the pre-dinner drinks were served in a room which best resembled a waiting room? Considering how quiet the restaurant was, the service was very slow and the waitress lacked both confidence and knowledge. The food was ok but there was something missing from the whole dining experience and there seemed to be zero atmosphere, which was a real shame because the restaurant has so much potential. Our bill could be compared to that of somewhere like Claridges and we all felt that for the experience we received this was far from good value and an air of complacency could be felt.......in fact my wife was so embarrassed that she felt compelled to pay the whole bill herself!!

Paris House, Woburn a huge disappointment.

AN EXPERIENCE TO NEVER BE REPEATED. Being real food lovers we were looking forward to my birthday treat in apparently one of the best restaurants in the Milton Keynes area. On arrival we were struck by the oddness of the place and the coldness of the staff as we found ourselves standing in a small and cramped lounge which can only be compared to a fawlty towers set. The decor is terribly dated and made worse by the fact that is then covered in cheap football memorabilia and plastic awards. Nevertheless we decided to sit tight and hoped that the food would meet expectation. On perusing the menu my husband was struck by the huge mark up on wine, a £17 bottle of Lanson , priced at £62. I am and always have been interested in the source of the food I eat and enquired as to where the chicken was sourced and if it was organic. I had assumed as the menu was £57 for three courses that it would be. The waitress said she didn't know but would find out. She returned saying it was organic, she thought. Mystified i continued through the menu. Suddenly a man appeared looking dishevelled and appearing to be 'with wine'. He preceded to rant about how people were suddenly getting so righteous about chicken and that not me or anyone would be able to tell the difference between his corn fed chicken from France and any organic or free range chicken and that I should stop being influenced by television. I thanked him for his insight and said that I was not influenced by television and have been interested in the source off the food I eat for some time. I then asked who he was and he slurred that he was the boss and started with the rant for the second time. My friend thanked him and said that we had understood the first time and he left. I confirmed with the waitress that he was indeed Peter Chandler and we promptly paid up and left. We had no choice but to ask them to order a taxi for us and good old Paris House went for a cab firm in central Milton Keynes thereby incurring a £10 call out charge. Disappointing and really rather sad and pathetic. We ended up eating in a lovely restaurant in Woburn where a number of the locals said that this was 'old news' .
