The Barn Eating House

My daughter and I trapsed around Pwllheli looking for a decent menu at a good price. We came across the Barn Eating House in Gaol Street by accident really. To us it looked like the back garden of a pub we were entering as it had picnic tables outside. We were the only people in there on that rainy day in April but there was a full menu with good homemade things like scouse, homemade pies, steaks etc. My daughter had scampi which was lovely and I had the 'Anglesey' gammon steak. It said prize winning gammon and indeed it was, it just melted in the mouth. We asked if they could make peppercorn sauce enough for two, which they did and it was a treat not to have it made out of a packet. I can honestly say it was one of the best pub meals I had had in ages. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly. My only critisim is that the walls needed some paintings as they were mostly just bare, lovely painted in plain white but needed something to soften it. We go to Pwllheli on a regular basis and shall certainly be going there again.
