Fair View Inn

I find it very strange reading these last 2 reviews and suspect it is someone local who bears a grudge!!!If you were local and feel that"she has wrecked a good local village pub"why would you choose to go there for an event?

I visited the Fair View Inn last weekend and was so impressed by the high standard and variety of the homemade food that I called in twice.
The bar area had a roaring fire which on a cold wet Saturday was a welcome site. I enjoyed chicken in bacon with for the first time in years homemade chips! I went back the next day for the Sunday roast.Sheila even gave me recipe advice on how she makes choux pastry for her profiteroles!

Sheila and Mike were very friendly and I was made to feel welcome.I live in Leeds and for the prices charged you would be lucky to get a snack.I wish the Fair View Inn would move to Yorkshire!!

We would like it noted what a brilliant meal we four had last night at the Fair view.
Choice in menu 10, Freshness of Produce 10, Quality 10 and cooked to perfection.
A most enjoyable evening. Look forward to our next meal.

We are a family of five including three teenagers and we have just spent October's half-term week in our caravan at Bron-Y-Wendon. The Fair View is less than a five minute walk away. Four of us had the rib-eye steak all cooked to different likings and one of us had chicken. All the meals without exception were excellent. They were probably the best steaks we have ever tasted and all the accompaniments were all home made.
The service was excellent and Sheila was very friendly. We were even allowed to take our dog in too even though it was in the bar area.
A bit pricey but you don't mind if it is a quality product which it was and freshly cooked.
Highly recommended by us and we have travelled all over the country caravanning and eating out. One of the best.

visited this establishment after driving for 2 hours ,and pitching my caravan ,i asked the bar maid "are you serving food"? answer:looking at me in disgust , "NO, THERE IS A SIGN OUTSIDE STATING WHEN ,ANYWAY THERE IS A SHELL FILLING STATION UP THE ROAD SELLING COLD SNACKS ,YOU CAN GO THERE!! not the type of welcome i would expect!!! Certainly will not visit again, she does not deserve to be running the pub.

Whilst on holiday in this area and searching for somewhere that served nice home made food we came across the Fairview Inn and decided to give it a try. We should have driven by! The food was overpriced and very poor quality. My husband had the chicken breast which was stone cold in the middle, not to mention a little pink, so to avoid any possible risk of food poisoning he left it. The so called restaurant was shabby and tired. Staff curt with a "take it or leave it" attitude. Definitely wouldnt recommend this dump!
