It's the York for me
  10 / 10
I'm another footie fan and have just checked out this site for other hotels in the Morecambe area.
I will be staying here again after last season when we were looked after like family by Mick and Lynn. They greeted us on arrival and opened the kitchen to cook us the awesome York Burger - I couldnt finish mine it was so tasy and filling. The rooms are top notch and value for money plus the locals in the bar make you feel so welcome.

Every season it's got to be the York

The York is re-born
  10 / 10
What an absolute turnaround to this beautiful old building which obviously was allowed to decline over the past 10 years. As a visiting football fan from the West Country I had stayed many times in the York Hotel and to be honest it was a dive. Now under the new tennancy of Mick and Lynn Dennison it has been resurrected into a top pub and B&B. The rooms are big and tastefully decorated and I stayed in one of the en-suite rooms which have been completely re-furbished. Breakfast was immence and there is a varied evening menu of good pub staples (The Steak and Ale Pie is made with 3 pints of Guinness). Real Ale is on offer in the bar and for me the best thrill was seeing Thatchers Gold Cider on offer. The atmosphere is great and all the locals make the traveller feel welcome. It gets packed on Morecambe FC matchdays but the atmosphere is great. This place is a must for anyone visiting Morecambe and looking for the authentic Lancashire welcome. One thing that need clearing up is the telephone number - it has now changed to 01524425353
