Simply The Best
  10 / 10
61 years if age and at long last found THE PERFECT PUB whilst on a day out at the weekend and purely by accident. Visited the Tithe Barn at Ashleworth owned by the NT and whilst turning around thereafter noticed a sign warning fishermen of parking in the Pub Car Park, huh I thought, a pub here? So off we went to explore and were we in or a very pleasant surprise.

The Boat Inn is well like a pub from 40 years ago, like how they used to be in the good old days but we didn't appreciate them then, we sure miss them now. Flagstone floors, wood panelling on the walls, quaint isn't adequate enough to describe this wonderful place.

The lunchtime snack was good, the service excellent, the beer out of this world, wife agreed to drive home and that was all I needed to get stuck in to some wonderful beer. Five different ales I quaffed and had three more again just to make sure I liked them.

I shall be returning the 30 odd miles very soon................

Never been in a more friendly pub. The landlord offered us a mooring and invited us to his beer festival.
Hadn't been near the area before. The Boat is very popular with the locals and we sat in amongst many of them,I think it was the local cricket team when we were in.
Made us very welcome but then we are friendly folk ourselves.

Had a great time here.

Found this pub welcoming although small bar room surrounded by locals could intimidate some? Picturesque setting alongside the river Severn, historic pub serving great beer and ciders. Food limited to filled rolls and crisps etc. Severn walk runs alongside the pub and a NT tithe barn is just down the road. Boats can tie up alongside. Outside loos are excellent!
