Never say never ... Oops , just said it twice ! Once upon a time two aliens landed and were very very rude to everyone who wanted to spend their leisure time in The White Hart . Many customers vowed Never to visit again and have stuck to their word . Well they've gone now , it's safe for you to return . You will be greeted with a friendly welcome , lovely great value food and nice ale . The place is polished inside and as always has the great location of stunning views across The Severn and beyond to Gloucestershire ..... on a clear night , one can see the MIlky Way , and I've looked but , those Aliens will ..... what's another word for never ? The End .

we have used this establishment for only four months but we have found the service and professionalism of all the staff excellent, on each occasion we were greeted with a very friendly welcome and every member of staff desired to please their clients, what more could one ask for !!.
the food is superb in my opinion and the chef will accommodate to suit any palette and the prices are very reasonable.
the situation of this pub is superb and the views are outstanding.

No 'going the extra mile' here

We decided to have a meal at this pub as it was such a lovely sunny day and we thought it would be nice to sit by the river; the location is fantastic.

Staff were very friendly and polite, my main course was a substantial salad and my mother had a starter instead of a main, her whitebait looked really nice. Unfortunately my 10 year old son didn't fair as well. He wanted a burger, but they had no beef burgers, so I ordered a chicken burger for him instead. The menu did not specify that the chicken would be chargrilled and I didn't think to ask. My son didn't like the 'burnt bits' and even after we had cut them all off, he said he could still taste it and he really didn't like it. I reported this at the bar and asked if they could substitute the chicken as we hadn't been aware it would be chargrilled. They said it wasn't their policy to do this, but they would amend their menu in future, which of course was no help to my son.

Well, we didn't feel inclined to quibble about the main course but went on to order dessert. My son wanted a knickerbocker glory, so ordered one along with a chocolate sundae. My son said he would prefer the chocolate sundae, so I ended up with the knickerbocker glory, which was quite franky awful; it tasted as if the fruit had been soaked in alcohol as it has a 'fizzy' taste, I can only assume the fruit (canned fruit cocktail) had fermented.

After my lack of success with chicken burger, I didn't bother complaining about the desert and was just prepared to chalk it up to experience, I was too tired for a confrontation.

I've written this review so that others do not make the same mistake; I'm sure it's a great place to go for a drink and yes, the location is nice and yes, the staff are polite, but value for money it isn't if you want a nice meal with no aggravation.

Terrrific pub

Cannot understand the comments here. Went withj friends on 22nd August 2011 and thought both the location and friendliness of the staff was excellent. Superb decor throughout in maritime style. Both dog and child friendly family pub. Food was excellent - steaks large and cooked as ordered. Desserts and chesseboard were too big if anything.Spent less than half that we had the previous evening with a much better meal and far more attentive staff who actually made you feel welcome. Thoroughly recommended by all our party - would certainly go again. Only criticism I had was the gentrs toilet which needs some refurbishment but overall an excellent pub - great terrace seating overlooking the River Severn
