About

The owners say:

The Fleece Inn re-opened on 27th July 2012. This lovely Pub has been renovated inside and out in the last weeks and is now open all day every day. The Fleece Inn is under new management having been bought by the community in and surrounding Hillesley. It is serving a range of real ales and traditional pub food. Also look out for the daily 'specials' board. Fresh Italian coffee is served and there is a spacious garden area and car park. You will receive a warm welcome from the new management team and staff.

Ribeye steak to die for!
  10 / 10
Had a brilliant evening at The Fleece Inn, Hillesley. A really warm welcome from new landlords - had a fantastic ribeye steak, cooked to perfection in a comfortable setting. I can't wait to go back to try his home made south african curry. I would highly recommend this pub - good real ale is another bonus.

a nice country pub
  7 / 10
On New Year's Day the staff were rushed off their feet but still friendly, welcoming, efficient, and helpful. Food was good, varied choice included an interesting vegetarian option, some solid plain stuff, and some more imaginative items. Real ales, obviously, well kept and went down well. I'm going back.

Excellent Sunday Service.
  8 / 10
We arrived here in the middle of a walk - just four of us on Sunday January 1st. The restaurant was busy, the staff lively and good and the food excellent. Roasts if you wanted, vegetarian options and sandwiches were on offer as well as good local beer. We ate a delicious vegetarian bake and sausage and mash, looking with envy at the roasts going into the dining room.

At 2.30, thirty pre-booked walkers turned up late so the pub stayed open for longer than, they might have wanted, since they had been up very late the night before. We are going back with a group of 25 walkers soon, which makes me wonder if the previous commentator was in a different pub.

i have lived in hillesley for 9 years and this pub has had its fair share of ups and downs. and its fair share of landlords, i dont go in offten but will never return. £50 wasted on bought in fish pie and poor real ale. the pub was better then this when it was shut. i was ashamed to bring my family in to hear the language used behind the bar. try the beaufort before thinking of this
