The Why Not Inn

My wife family and friends regularly dine at the Why Not Inn, often without booking. The staff and owners are always welcoming and go out of their way to make our visits enjoyable. It is no surprise that this is a busy venue given the quality of the food, more often than not cooked personally by the owner, with fresh ingredients, and served by courteous staff, not withstanding the onerous demands of some customers. I have no hesitation in recommending this Inn as an ideal place to enjoy a quality, value for money meal, a relaxed atmosphere and a friendly welcome.

I would like to reply to the last comment - CRAP, CRAP, CRAP!
Firstly all of our food is cooked fresh and to order, so unfortunately some food will take a little longer to be cooked, and i apologise that yours took that length of time. The night when you came was an extremely busy night and I believe that you had not booked a table yet the staff managed to find you a table in the conservatory where you wanted.

Also please do not bad mouth myself who in fact is the Owner - as the person you are referring to as arguing with you was not infact the Manager - just a member of the bar staff, and I apologise that he did speak out of turn to you. If you felt so strongly I wish that you could have spoken directly to Sharon, my wife, or myself who own the pub not just assume you know who the manager/owners are and write this bad review.

I understand that the rest of your party did actually comment on how lovely the food was, even though there was a delay.

Took over an hour for my starter to come out. When I queried why - I was told that because the mushrooms were being prepared fresh, the chef had put them aside and decided to send out other dishes!!! I couldn't believe what I was hearing, so I asked her to repeat it. Same explanation.
When I went to pay, I said I was not happy and explained why. Then the Manager started arguing with me!!!! Telling me that I should have told the waitress if I wasn't happy. I said that I did - TWICE!! He still continued to argue with me!!! This pub has crap service and crap customer service I would not recommend anyone go here!!!

Had a delightful lunch there recently. Food was excellent and plenty of it. No sophistication, just pure excellent service and food. Several outstanding beers kept at the bar. I throughly recommend eating there with friends.
