Sunday Roast....Amazing Value for money!!!!!!
  10 / 10
What great value for money, less than £13 for 3 courses plus coffee.

Our party all had three courses, starters included soup, breaded mushrooms and battered prawns all was lovely, just the right portion size for a starter and served with warm bread which came as we were seated.

The mains included beautiful roast beef (cooked rarer or more well done to your liking) and big fluffy yorkshire pudding, half roast chicken with the trimmings and of course the much talked about lamb shank, a huge portion served in a very rich minty gravy. The selection of vegetables was again a large portion of three veg plus new poatoes, cauli cheese was lovely.

The puds were beautifully presented including a fabulous baileys chhesecake. Coffee was fresly brewed and served with a small mint.

It was table service for ordering food which is nice, although we went to the bar for the drinks, yes the barmaid was a bit grumpy but wouldn't you be watching all that yummy food go out and not being able to eat it!!!

There is a beer garden for when the sun is shining with a childrens play area, we sat outside by the pond with a drink, letting our large lunch go down.

We will definately be going back and recommending it to all!

Great food & portion size
  9 / 10
This was the third place we tried for a Sunday lunch, and definitely worth stopping here. The food was very good, and a huge size portions. I had the lamb shank and it was superb. The portions were generous, so much so that we were contemplating whether the plate of vegetables was for all 7 of us or there were more to come... there was another plate to come!

Restaurant was clean, and family friendly, and amazing value for money, one course £8.95 and included coffee and mint. for a few quid extra, can have a choice of desserts, and these were not half portions either!

Only reason not 10 stars was it was a little confusing ordering the food. Signs said to order at the bar, but then someone came to take our food order, however drinks still had to be ordered at the bar.

Would definitely recommend and return again.

ample portions

been here many times, never had a bad meal. Sometimes the main course is to much. Menu very good. Always presented well and always hot. Lamb shank is to die for. Put this with real ale and its probably the best in the area.

Wonderful fare
  9 / 10
We recently had the Christmas Fayre menu for several people. The food was fantastic, pate out of this world and the Turkey melted in your mouth. Really enjoyed it, the atmosphere was lovely too, lots of people and friendly banter between Staff and Guests. We will definitely be going back.
