Pickburn Arms

Very disappointing visit heard good reviews in past so thought would give it a go, never to be repeated!!!!!
On arrival was greeted by a smarey scottish man, who had obviously been drink as could smell it as soon as he started talking. (Maybe I should have left then!!!). The wife dressed in what would better suit a lap dancing club than a country pub.
The food was not much better, frozen veg (still cold), tough liver and burnt chips.
The service was poor, meal arrived after 20 mins, and had to leave seat to ask for sauce for my chips. Over zealous owner was there asking if I wanted dessert before I could finish my last mouthful of my tough liver.
It is a pity that pub is not better managed, Idylic and peaceful location could be an ideal place if someone who cared was in charge!
