On arrival I thought my sat nav had sent me to the wrong place ! council house with 5 black bin bags outside and a row of paving slabs over potholes to park on.
As the door was opened there I was greeted with a strong smell of gloss paint plastered walls still drying out and masking tape over everything not to be painted, including the carpet which had not managed to save it in places !!.
The bedroom was basic and as I moved one of the beds discoverd cigarett filters and a peice of wood which may have been from the hole where the skirting board should have been !
The shower room had a peice of carpet on the floor ! and the handle was taped up for painting so was not able to be used.
The toilet was the same and the carpet spattered with bits.
Good job I was in my work gear as I have a nice white stripe down the sleeve from one of the doorways.
Breakfast was from the microwave that had turned the sausage hard and the bacon a greeny grey, the scrambled eggs & beans were ok.
A good hoovering would not go a miss.
For £45 I was not impressed (Travellodge prices)
I asked what time breakfast would be served and told 8am as rugby world cup was on and it was between matches!!!!
Breakfast was held in the attached house next door, so you have to go outside and in the other front door, here we were greeted by a plasterer and dust sheets, the dinning area again was very basic, limited cereal, no fruit, the cooked breakfast was not a menu it was what you got and delivered by meals on wheels and heated in the microwave.
For £75 pound the night (included breakfast) I would have at least expected the place to be tidy, granted they are having work done but this should not have any affect on paying guests.Yes the owners were pleasant when you saw them but if you needed anything it was a phone call from our mobile as no one was actually at the house.
I think abit more customer care is called for and I would definately
say they over charged.
