Rude!!!!
  1 / 10
We had a very similar experience to "Frosty". We stopped off at this very nice looking pub for some lunch and waited at the bar for a good few minutes to be served. We went into the restaraunt area and the waitress who we believe to be the owner of the establishment told us in a very unfriendly manner to sit at a table set for 2. We asked if she minded if we sat at one of the tables set for 4 (It had approx 12 tables unoccupied at this time and 1 person sat in the bar) She spoke to us in a very abrupt way and told us in no uncertain terms that we were to sit where we had been told to.
We decided to leave our drinks and leave at that moment. When we asked if we could settle the tab and we asked her very politely why there was a problem seeing as they werent busy. She again was very rude and told us that nobody else in a couple in the restaraunt was allowed to sit anywhere but a table for 2 so we couldnt either and if we didnt like it then we should leave. (Which is exactly what we were doing)
Never have I experienced such rude, bad mannered and unfriendly customer service as we had that day. Its a wonder they get any custom at all while she is working there.

FROSTY!
  1 / 10
We had the misfortune of visiting this pub recently. It was a very cold Tuesday evening in February around 8pm. Understandably, the restaurant was very quiet. I would guess that there are about 15 tables in the dining room, two of which were occupied. My wife and I decided to sit at a table set for four which was located next to the fire. As we were getting comfortable a nervous waitress approached us with a very worried look on her face and asked: Would you mind moving to a table that is set for two? The owner does not like couples sitting at a table set for four!
I mentioned that as the restaurant was just about empty and that at this time it was unlikely that they would receive any more customers and that she check with the owner and perhaps make an exception. Off went the waitress with a very worried look on her face. About a minute later a very rude and angry lady asked us to move to another table set for two. I asked if we could stay where we were, close to the fire. Her response: No, I dont want to have to explain to everyone else why I have made an exception.
At this point I said that my wife and I would take our business elsewhere. I think the above explains the empty restaurant and the very nervous staff. The food might be good but the atmosphere and customer service was atrocious.
