Sunday 20th december 2009
  10 / 10
After travelling nearly two hours in the dreadful weather, ice and snow, finally arrived at the bridge inn, where we were greeted with a warm atmosphere and smiley faces. Which was a releif from the weather outside.
we had our table booked for 12 for over two weeks, as was near imposible to get a table sooner in there cocktail bar, so high expections were present. When we arrived our table was ready and were seated straight away, and given menus, sorted. We all ordered sunday roasts, but there was plenty of choice, ie ala carte which looked gorgeous.
The food came quickly, and looked and tasted great, Fresh and alot of it, good value for money.
we will definately be returning in the near future as myslef and family were very impressed and couldnt believe that you could get chinese and morrocan food etc all in one place lol.
10/10

ps you need a website so i can study the menu before i arrive next time lol

great value
  10 / 10
was passing the pub the other afternoon and just decided to pop in for lunch and was suprised at how busy it was! The menu was excellent and realy great value for money, the staff were also realy friendly and welcoming. We only waited half an hour for our food (toad in the hole) which came out piping hot with home made giant yorkshire pud plenty of sausages and lashings of delicious home made onion gravy. Would recommend it to everyone i know well worth it.

Staff Do
  8 / 10
11 of us decided to go the The Bridge Inn for a Staff do. All very excited, as we had all heard good things seeing as weâ??re all local to Darlington. One lad is from Stapleton, but weâ??ll not hold that against him for now, hehe.
Al arrived for Half 6 as planned. got Sat quickly and the staff were very welcoming to all of us.
Deciding what to have was a task and a half, we lost count after 45 dishes [not including starters], but seeing as there was sooooo much choice everyone got something different.
Luckily we were not obligated to share and go through the whole â??yours looks good, can I try a bitâ? scenario, which was rather nice, lol. [Those chaps with wives and girlfriends know what I mean! J]
Food was great, I went for the Shanghai Sizzling Platter, which is basically 4 types of meat cooked in a Hoi Sin Sauce and served with Boiled Rice.
Others decided to be a Tad more exotic and go for the Bison Steaks, and others were happy with a mountain of Carbonara.
The dessert menu was also rather good, only having about 20 to choose from, again all of us getting something different. I would recommend the Strawberries and Meringues and the Fudge Brownie Sundae.
The fun stared when we got the Bill.
Having had a quick once over, we were puzzled at the price of drinks. We decided to ask, and the outcome was that they charge £1.50 for a Jug of Tap Water. As there were 11 of us, we had 2, which stuck £3 on the tab. Now this sent a few up the wall, seeing as how none of us had been to an establishment that charged for water, and we were putting the thick end of £250 in their till for the Meal.
We were told that â??water is charged, as the staff need to be paid for serving it, and washing up the Jugs and Glassesâ?. I would hate to be that guy, getting £1.50 for washing pots.
Anywho, all sorted, and we actually got some loot back, which was nice
All in all, a rather spiffing evening, just sad to report on the shenanigans of Council Pop.
