I have been to this pub a few times, and I find the service to be average, the waiters and waitresses all seem to be very young though and not very experienced in customer service, despite this they all try their best and most make you feel warm and welcome. The carvery on a Wednesday is lovely and I haven't been to one on Sunday but I can only imagine it to be just as good if not better. The interior is a bit tatty with paint missing in several areas in the pub, although I have just heard that they have changed all the seat covers in there and they've painted the outside a different colour so maybe the paint inside is yet to come. The food is average and of a decent price. All in all an alright pub. I only came on this site to try and find the number for it to book a table, now look what I've done!

Best Pub in South Normanton

Excellent pub... fantastic food and service. Live entertainment every Saturday, family run pub and everyone made to feel welcome. I eat here on a regular basis and the food is always outstanding and very good value. Visit for yourself and make your own mind up.

brill Carvery

i eat on a regular basis at the Hawthorns and find the food to be excellent as was the service and food at my daughters birthday party.As for the comments left by SPOONER i believe this to be the sister of Tricia who is the Landlady of the Devonshire Arms so find this unprofessional. The only way you will know for yourself is to go and see for yourself .Happy customer on a packed Sunday carvery
