The Drovers Inn

I am very surprised this restaurant isn't pre-book only, it seems people haven't found the place yet as it wasn't as full as I initially expected. There were a fair few people and I have to admit probably bettered the experience having a quiet,slow and highly enjoyable meal with friends.
I went with my dearest and some friends, initial reaction was that we should have joined the tweed or cardigan club to enter the public bar, not the best intro we have ever walked into.
When you get passed the put-on-English accents of some scots folk, you are led into the ambient restaurant, we had a table in the new extension, which is so cleverly designed,the aura added to our delightful evening.
The meal was delectable, I had Scallops for starter, which were perfectly cooked, melt in the mouth heaven.
I then opted for Sirloin steak,the beef was perfect, juicy and cooked just how I had asked. Pudding was a difficult choice; sticky toffee always wins with me but the sight of Creme Brulee on the menu made me dither..... The sticky toffee was unbeatable!
If you have a forthcoming event, The Drovers Inn at Memus is the place to go.
Classic, beautiful and ambient surroundings, make this restaurant hard to beat. The menu is cleverly designed to reach all palates, affordably priced with friendly and helpful staff.
On taste alone you will return to this truly delightful gathering.

Went to The Drovers on Sunday with my family (4 generations), this was my first visit and it won't be my last. I loved it, I really enjoy eating out regulary but since the birth of my son 7mths ago have come across some very unfriendly places for children - Not The Drovers - we received a warm welcome and the staff were excellent with us all, especially my son. They thought of more than just the high chair with extra touches that didn't go un-noticed or unappreciated.
My family of all ages really enjoyed the meal, the food was lovely and we'll be booking again soon!!

My parents live a 15minute drive from here and I have no trouble whatsever driving rather than drinking just to go to this lovely place. The food is always amazing, the staff friendly and there is always a lovely buzz around the place. Main courses are around £10-£15 which for an evning meal I think is a bargain.
Being a fussy city girl I have to say this is my favourite place so far for pub grub, anywhere.
Great for the family too although can be a little noisey in the bar.

An historic name and location at the foot of the Mounth makes this a good stop for those coming over from Deeside, or beyond. Alternatively returning from an amble in the Angus Glens this could be a good stop however, unlike the walker/climber friendly Clova Hotel the Drovers has gone for an update to the décor that makes the scruffy type (of which I am one) feel distinctly under dressed, even in the bar. However I am assured by my better half that the dining arrangements are good and I may be tempted into testing them one day when I am not mud covered.

What happened to the Fantastic little country pub/resturant. Haven't been for a while, as I have moved from the area, but it used to be great, great food at good prices. I understand it has changed hands and now is EXPENSIVE & AVERAGE, wouldn't rush back. If it ain't broke, don't fix it ! Get the old chef back.
