The Fishpool Inn

headed out for lunch on Tuesday to a favourite of our's The Fishpool inn, only to find it under demolision!! shock,horror!! must admit hadn't been there since last year when the lovely,funny lyn was still there, when she run it, the food was nothing but superb, and reasonable priced too, never left the pub unsatisfied, it was always busy and more often than not we had to pre-book! apparently it went down hill when Lyn left, so i've heard! recommended it to lots of family and friends, will try it again when it eventually reopens! but will be very honest cant see it being as good as when Lyn had it. so sad ;-(

My wife and i went to try sunday lunch what can i say excellent beef with huge yorshire puddings and plenty of vegetables.
Thankyou to all the staff who were fantastic and good luck to the new owners on this new venture i believe there is a huge refurb in the new year! we will be back very soon

We were pleasantly surprised when we fell upon the Fishpool Inn during a trip in the Cheshire countryside. The staff were friendly and well presented. They showed great knowledge of the real ales, extensive wine list and locally sourced menu and special boards. The food was well proportioned and delicious.
We have since recommended the Inn and know it has been visited by many friends. The sat nav has been programmed and will be used on our next trip out of town.

My wife and I have been to TFPI on a number of occasion, to be honest the only reason we put up with rude, overbearing, previous owner was the excellent food
We have been twice now since the new owners have taken over.
The fist occasion(week-day lunch) the food was fine.
On the second occasion(Sunday Lunch) we where offered a choice of 2 items for Sunday Roast,(Beef or Mushroom Wellington)Pray someone tell me what's Sunday Roast about beef wellington. I needed a steak knife to cut my beef as half was very over cooked and the other half was pink, this was served with a horrible gluppy gravy and no sauce what so ever with the 'wellie', which was very dry. the place was almost empty, even so we waited 3/4 hour for our meal, the food was maybe 1st year catering college standard. We do hope the new owners can turn the place around, as the other two places they own are excellent, (Good Luck)

Derek, you obviously are living in the past when a treat for you was a prawn cocktail followed by a steak!
The Nelsons run 3 of the most successful restaurant/pub/hotel/wedding businesses in the county.
So maybe the abbey arms just down the road is more of your cup of tea where you can get your pint of beer and burger for less than 10 english pounds.
