Recently taken over and 4 of us went to have meal there on a Wednesday evening. I had the smoked haddock with leek mash, topped with spinach and a poached egg with hollandase sauce - it was amazing such wonderful flavours, the two guys had steak and said it was very tender and beautifully cooked and they loved their homemade chunky chips. My other friend had pan fried chicken in a stilton and whisky sauce but she has an allergy to cream and when asked if the sauce had this in the landlady went to check with the kitchen and replied "as the sauce is freshly made Chef has said he can make it without the cream".

Its a great pub which is out in the country and well worth finding - a gem for a great atmosphere and lovely food. They appeared to do some theme nights such as curry on a Wednesday and fish and chips on a Thursday but still had the daily changing menu. We did hear that there will be steak and stilton pie and also steak and spitfire pie being made so my husband is now hounding me to return very quickly to try these.

Another nice touch was the fact that the landlady and landlord introduced themselves when you went in - making you feel so welcome. I noticed as well that dogs are allowed in the pub area and also that children too are welcomed with a page to colour plus crayons to use which kept them amused for quite a while or they could play in the great garden behind the pub when the weather is good.

If you get a chance then find your way out there either just for a lovely drink in a good atmosphere or a really tasty meal at a reasonable price.
