Wicked Food
  10 / 10
Thought i would drop a review after we visited in August, we found the service super and the welcome warm seems past troubles are over. Very friendly and informed staff front of house and a great wine list if a bit pricey but good choice and unusual wines to try for the first time.
Fantastic menu choice maybe a little to much we all sat for ages trying to decide what to have it all sounded great and our expectation where exceeded as the food is simply superb, each course I only managed two of the three but the other trenchermen at table enjoyed all three courses and each was better than the first, its only over coffee that you spy a few awards on the wall and more accolades on the notice board and it seems like they have been doing it for ages am i the last to know again.
If your a food fan and like to eat out in the sticks this is a place to visit highly recommended and they got our booking spot on we must be lucky.

Ruined celebration
Visited before but after cancelling 40th Birthday celebration meal on the night and not letting us know by coming up with some cock and bull story would not recommend this pub to anyone. The management need to get their heads round to the idea that customer statisfaction is more inportant than money making!!. This is not the first time this has happened as Christmas meal was cancelled.Staff very unhelpfull, very disappointed and birthday ruined by this pub.

What a place
  10 / 10
First time writing a review but credit where credit is due a place like this should be supported some restaurants talk the talk and some walk the walk, well we were in last Sunday we have a fussy four year old and we always ask for the kids menu with a bit of trepidation, here they bring you two menu one for us and one for Jake a few crayons and Jakes one is dedicated we find out to the resident pets living at the pub, little one loves this and then his lunch arrives we ask for it to be served with our starters usually an issue here no problem out it comes and well fresh fish in batter, real potato chips and vegetables a real rarity and their nice and fresh and he eats them, our food all of it mind blowing real beef real yorkies great place got kids feed them here friendly staff we will be back bill a surprise we can actually afford to eat here, hope you stay busy and thanks for the great meal.

Try for yourself
  8 / 10
We can only ask you to try this friendly place, the food is superb and locally sourced. The Sunday Lunch is such good value and a great selection. For those who prefer fish this too is beautifully presented and they even cater for vegetarians. It is obvious that the chef knows his onions and enjoys his work, not surprised he has won Chef of the Year for Essex this year - Go on-look up this exciting eaterie you will not be disappointed.
