Excellent local, good honest food and well kept ales
  8 / 10
We went there at lunchtime and since bookings aren't taken were concerned that the six of us would struggle to get seated. We were directed through to the Chimes restaurant which is at the rear. Staff were most helpful, very good selection of daily specials and fish all at very reasonable prices. Portions were generous whilst quality of food, service and decor were good. Thoroughly recommended.

Sunday meal at The Bell and Chimes
  8 / 10
Yes, very pleasant food, comfortable seating with warm and friendly atmosphere. Even the waitress thought the food good enough to eat as she had her dinner there.
What I would love to know though, is can I please have the recipe for the Chestnut, parsnip and Sweet Potato Bake that was listed on the menue there. I have looked this up on Google Food, but without success. Is there anyone out there that can help me?
I bought about 5lbs worth of parsnips for £1 from the market the other day and some cheap chestnuts and I would like to know how to put them all together!
