AMAZING! REALLY SAFE, HELPFUL AND FUN! 10/10! GO THERE!
  10 / 10
I go there every weekend now, although the first time I went there I was, 10? I've been going there for over 12 years now and have never had one injury or close injury (panics or something.) It is really safe there, IF you fall of the whole school will stop riding until you say you are okay. If you are a young beginner, your instructor will hold your leg if you are unsure about riding. Riding instructors are always so nice and funny and you can always have a chat with them. They will take you through stages and go at your own pace of learning.

It is very hard to keep the floors clean, but they mostly are as MMS tries very hard. They had a daily cleaner, to keep the floors un-muddy so to one will slip.

In all the time I've been going there I have had no bullies or complaints, only made friends.

They have great facilities, one indoor riding school, two outdoor riding schools, the forest and country lanes. The horses are always clean and adorable. Sometimes if you book a special horse, maybe it's at a party at that time so they will swap the horse. Although it will always have the same speed, roughly height and cuteness!

They always have some kind of show or festival/ party/ BBQ or something coming up.

Really great, go there if you are serious for riding, really fab. AMAZING! best riding school in england!;)

It's okay... sometimes.
  8 / 10
I've been riding at mount mascals for about a year and a half now and I have also worked there before (I found it boring so I don't anymore.) When I first began to ride I had private lessons with a women called pip and she was GREAT at teaching me, we often went on hacks and she was a very helpful instrutor. As I improve I join a group lesson with a lady call Hilery Grant and also she fab teacher.

BUT I like to ride big horses and need alot of room. I don't get it. I've often had to share my area with young children who hadn't learnt to ride by themselves. They just get in your way when you jumping or cantering. It is a very popular school but it is always crowed in the sand schools. The outside school has had a roof put over it but it is still very cold out there.

Recently I have booked on a bigger horse, come to my lesson to pay for the horse I booked a week before and been told its need for something else. Then I've been put on a lazy pony that I don't feel happy on either because it feels to small or because I just don't like it. I never seem to get the horse I want unless it is new and hardly no one knows about it yet.

But everyone at mount mascal stables are very kind and friendly, its a lovely, relaxing place to be. There are woods, grass fields, lanes (dirt tracks), inside school and outside school to ride in. If you fall of ALL the riders and horses have to stand still until the peron who fell of is okay.

the thing I hate the most about mount mascal isn't that I never have enough room or that I hardly never get the horse I really want but it's that it is a business. If a horse gets too old or is lame to many times or for too long then they get rid of it. I fell in love with so many of the old horses just to find one week they are lame and the next they've been sold or gotten rid of.

quite good
  5 / 10
This riding stables is usually quite busy and crowded so don't expect a free arena when you go to have a lesson. the ponies and horses can be a bit lazy so you need to have a firm hand. The woods which are situated right next to the stables are lovely however and are great for hacks. There is a wide range of activities in the holidays such as gymkanas fun hacks and fancy dress competitions. This is a good riding stables.

Bad points: The horses are only offerd a drink of water if they are going to be put away Are sometimes left with saddles on while tied to the fence Some instructors seem bored when teaching and sometimes don't concentrate on your riding Good points: You learn a lot. It has a friendly atmosphere If you fall off, everyone in the whole arena has to stop their ponies (very sensible) and you have a thougrouh check over and are offered a chance of another pony if your pony has gone bonkers (or lame). Overall this stables is good for riders of any ability The hacking is lovely in joydens woods. There are also lots of activities on the holidays like gymkhanas, shows, badges etc The money is good compared to other stables prices! The website is www.mountmascalstables.com. In the summer holidays, or weekends, the school is probably going to be busy, but if you want a quiet lesson go on a weekday. For complete novices the ponies are old schoolmasters and are bombproof. Most of the ponies and horses have good temparments. Anyone can have a chance to help out but it is better if you are over 12 years old as it is a long day and some of the ponies can be quite strong. Mount Mascal also has a very big Pony Club and is child friendly. They are also a livery stables if you want to keep your horse there. :)
