'baderpink' i have have been going to this stables much, much, longer than your daughter has, and to be quite honest the teacher ALWAYS checks the girth, im 14 and have fell off quite a few times, i havent fell off in a while though. Your daughter was probably leaning to far to one side and the saddle slipped, nothing can be done about that, it is not the horses fault or the teachers, it is the riders.

Earlier today i rode one of the horses there, called Teddy, and he certainly was NOT 'dead to the leg' if you put the effort in and have a good attitude, the horse will put effort in. We had a good ride, and so did everyone else throughout the day, i would rather have someone shout and tell me what im doing wrong, so i can quickly correct myself, and avoid injury, than someone say' oh, no, be careful, or dont do that' in a small pathetic voice, and end up falling off, or injuring the horse.

There are 3 lessons in the morning, and then there is an hour break with one or two lessons after that, during those first three hours, the horses have about a ten minute break inbetween, where we get the riders on. Yes, younger girls such as myself sort out the girth and stirrups, but bonnie(the owner) or jordan(another teacher) always double check what we have done.

All the horses can go really well, but only if the rider puts the effort in. Safety is very important at this stables, and you should respect that. We dont tell you how to do your job, so please dont try and tell us how to do ours when you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

If you are so keen on helping horses, then please, try and help the ones that are being abused and are scared, not the ones at our stables that are loved and cared for and are happy. Clackmill is like my second home, no scratch that, my second family, and im sure you would hate it if i disrespected your family.

Get your facts right before you disrespect us!

I strongly disagree with the comment below! Having gone to this stables for very long time, I no that the safety of every horse and rider is most important thing to this riding stables! Safety checks are put into place everytime a new rides starts by the teacher which is taking the lesson eg checking girths, tack etc! Its s a brilliant place to learn, the teachers are enthusiastic and professional and all they want is the best out of every rider!!! The horses are very well looked after and are very well suited for all types of riders ranging from complete beginners to experience riders!

BEWARE!
Tacking up is not safe, as girth was very loose because it is checked by young girls resulting in our daughter falling off in the field. The ponies are dead to the leg and most of them (5 out of 6) are used for 4 hours at a time with no break. The owner/instructor does not have the suitable attitude to work with children. After trying it for 7 months would not recommend. We feel our daughter has learnt more in two lesson at her alternative riding school (Wapley Stables) than she has achieved at Clack Mill ridding School. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!
