Good Food
  9 / 10
A great menu, offering something for everyone.

My family and i had a super evening here, food was excellent and drink was not over priced, unlike many of these pub restaurants.

Good service and will be going back soon

Set in a nice location we stumbled across The Candlestick one lunchtime.

We received a warm welcome and the staff were very helpful.

It was nice to be offered a good selection of different meals and some daily specials which I always like to go for.

The food took slightly longer than we expected to arrive, but understanding that it was all cooked fresh to order, and was very busy at the time, it did not put us off.

We had a great meal and will definitely be going back

Would recommend

Good food, nice atmosphere
  8 / 10
Went here last Thursday on a recommendation. Our friends eat here all the time and are very complimentary about it so we thought we would try it.

The setting is lovely, the atmosphere in the restaurant was good and service was great. Our food did take slightly longer than we expected, but it was very busy and when it did arrive it was fantastic. The quality of the food for the price it was being sold for was very good value.

We will definitely be going back, a great little place!

Great pub
I live locally so was very pleased when new management took over last year as the pub had taken a bit of a nosedive in recent years. The pub has been given a new lease of life. Great menu which has changed each time i've been there (a few times in the last year) and real ales which change too. I always make sure I book a table as each time i've been in it's been pretty busy. All round an excellent change for the better.

A lovely night out
  10 / 10
My wife and i thought we would try The Candlestick on Friday night. She is a coeliac and so we always phone ahead to find out what options there will be available on the menu for her.

We were delighted with the response. The very helpful chap on the phone immediately explained several dishes that can be made especially to suit my wife's dietary requirements, and it was also nice to hear that the chips are home made (no flour) so she could have those!

When we got to The Candlestick we were greeted by a lovely young lady with a beaming smile. She showed us to our table and had already been briefed of my wife's dietary requirements, which was nice so that we did not have to explain our situation all over again.

Our food was delicious, my wife chose the fish (grilled instead of battered) with the home made chips. I had the rib eye steak which was a truly fantastic cut of meat. I also had the deep fried jam sandwich for dessert which was a bit naughty being a diabetic, but it was well worth it!

Overall a wonderful experience. From start to finish we were made to feel so welcome, it was very busy but still retained a relaxing atmosphere and the service was very good.

We will certainly be going back!
