Sunday lunch 28th Feb 2011

Food was very good, brilliant Carvery, but try not to use the toilets! Toilet rolls on the floor due to broken holders, no locks on some of the doors no soap in one dispenser and the other one broken!! Come on Masons Arms this is basic stuff!!

Difficult to rate, Toilets 1 out of 10. Food 7 out of 10.

enjoyable food and good value ....BUT
  8 / 10
I stopped off here on my way back from gloucester and had their £3.50 special and found myself a quiet corner of the pub.The service was quick and the meal very enjoyable however 3 quarters of the way through my meal two employees decided although the pub was only about a quartre full to have lunch on the table in front of me which hemmed me in and caused difficulty when i was ready to leave.I struggled past chairs knocking one over carrying plates and cutlery which i eventually had put down on their table to finish my "assualt course".I finally made it to freedom picked up a coat that i had knocked to the floor and the plates etc of their table placed it on the bar and left thinking how the inconsideration of two employees somewhat ruined an otherwise relaxing enjoyable and value for money dinner break.

Masons Arms Carvey, Excellent Food,Price and service. New Company ownership.
  9 / 10
Visited on Saturday 13th June 2009. Four in party, Well The carvery for £3.50 with unlimited vegetables (available mon-sat all day & £6.50 on a sunday all day) was terrific value for money.

The service was great. The food was Great. There was a choice of Beef, Turkey, Gammon, with choice of french bean, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes, sliced new potatoes, freash carrots, onion gravy, other gravy, garden peas, Yorkshire pudding (not homemade)and stuffing balls.

I think for the price you will not belive the quality of your carvery meal. The meats where cooked to perfection and the vegetables were tasty and not dried out as some carveries tend to do. Excellent overall.

I will definately go back again and reccommend this eating place now it has changed hands.

I did find the premises very hot inside whilst eating my meal and would like to think the management will put in some air conditiong or turn it on.

Go on give it a try . you wont regret it - honestly.

fantastic value carvery
  9 / 10

I visited the Masons Arms on Easter Monday, 13th April 2009. Very speedily I was in the queue for the Carvery. The choice was excellent, beef, gammon and turkey which was all cooked to perfection. The veg was excellent. The price of £3.50 was unbeleivable and £1.50 extra for a pudding, with plenty of choice! I will be visiting again soon and thouroughly reccommend it. Best wishes Diana Mallaney
