My fiance and I went to Tarantella last night for a nice quiet meal. Whilst the food was adequate (though by no means exemplary) the setting was terrible. The waiter first showed us to a table for teo in the passageway where we would be bumped by everyone who passed so we asked for another table. We were then put out the back near the toilets (lovely!) where a few minutes later a large group of about 20 arrived to celebrate a birthday. You'd think the waiter may have advised us that a large group was expected next to us to give us the option of moving. As it was the group milled around their table without sitting disturbing our meal, which we had to try and eat with them crowding our table and shouting at each other to make ourselves heard over them. This is obviously not their fault, just poor service from the staff.
On the whole, food ok, service below average, setting and ambiance terrible. We won't be going back any time soon but will be trying the new Italian in town Bottelino's.
