great place to stop on the Trent & Mersey canal. Excellent food.
  10 / 10
We were on a canal trip and stopped right outside the Plum Pudding where we were able to use their private moorings. Welcome was very friendly, restaurant was warm (very important when you have spent the day in the cold on a barge), fine range of ales including handpull and a wide choice on the menu plus a big board of specials. Food was superb - mouthwatering and tasty, we had a selection of home made dishes which were worth waiting for - cooking 8 meals fresh to order obviously took a little while. Try the 'healthy' garlic bread while you wait.Service was very good and personal. Kids loved this approach and loved even more the desserts - very nice ice creams but go for the home made desserts - after 8 cheesecake!!
Excellent place to visit, very much fresh food and very convenient when barging.

The Plum Pudding is a hidden gem!
  10 / 10
I ate last night for the first time at the Plum Pudding (Il Marchigiano). The food was absolutely superb. We were a table for 8 and all members of the party were spoilt for choice. We finally chose want to order and were served by a really friendly person Roma - we beleive she was the owner,

The food came and it was Italian food at its best. The flavours were just mouthwatering.

It will not be long before we go back. I can recommend the place to anyone. I eat out two / three times a week and this is amongst the best place i have been to in the last few years
