Having driven past The Crown Inn on many occasions, my husband and I decided to drop in on the way home from work one evening. It was a Tuesday evening and they were running their "Steak Night' - 2 meals for £20 or with an additional bottle of wine for £25. It was early evening so quiet but the bar staff were friendly and attentive. The steak consisted of two large, lean and beautifully cooked pieces of local beef served with thick cut chips. Possibly the best steak I've eaten outside of a French restaurant!

If you're looking for well presented, beautifully cooked, reasonably priced pub food then this could be the place for you. We'll definitely be going back.

went to the crown at martley on the advice of a friend who know their food!was taken aback, not because of the food, nor the new interior but on the last review left on this site!it would seem that the last owners they refered to have thankfully left.true that when we arrived it wasn't very busy but talking to one of the friendly staff, apparently they had only been open 3 days with no advertisement!goats cheese starter was fab, rack of lamb main was perfectly cooked.very well priced and well worth the travel from worcester.the new owners seem to know exactly what their doing and hope they do well...best of luck

AVOID
Having booked 6 people for the Xmas menu about two weeks in advance, they did not have the menu as advertised and so instead of festive starters, we had to make do with rather poor prawn cocktails. Upon the main course arriving, the turkey must have been sliced from a Bernard Mathews rolled turkey and was cold. The vegetables were very poor and would not be acceptable at Motorway services. 5 out of the six of us did not bother with sweets, the promised and advertised crackers and mince pies failed to materialise. We were charged for drinks that we did not have. A total con at Christmas time. Despite a complaint to the management, they chose just to ignore us. DO NOT EAT HERE. They are quick enough to take your money with a smile but the food and service are appalling.
