What I would call a real pub!
  10 / 10
Perfect countryside pub (complete with the countryside view) offering delicious home-made food and refreshing ales all served by polite and welcoming staff. When the sun is shining you truly can't ask for a better traditional pub to be served an ice cool beer!

So pleased I found this place and I really would recommend it to anyone. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Cheers!

With Food too! Gets even better ............

So, not content with serving great beer to keep you lubricated while you look out over the great views after a walk in the area, you can now get a wide selection of good-value, well-prepared food, many of which are home-cooked.

Sunday lunches too - I had beef with Yorkshire Pudding, roast spuds and parsnip and a selection of other vegetables - as good as at home!

Top it up with a bit of sunshine - magical way to spend a couple of hours!!

Warm friendly staff-good wholesome food
Lovely olde pub with a proper bar. You are invited to take a seat in the cosy dining area. Food is from a simple menu or a specials board. THe steak is generous and the salmon was excellent. Cannot be beaten for local colour and value for money.

Difficult to beat!!!
  9 / 10
OK. where to start?? Well-kept real ale, clear as a bell, and the locals love it. The locals were friendly as well! Roaring log fires in both the bar and the dining room gave a real warm welcome, and the staff seemed to be happy that I had gone to see them.

Had enough time to eat here for Saturday lunch - good choice of menu , I recommend the Steak Pie, plenty of it, and good value!

The new owners are definitely stamping their mark on the place, with new decorations and pictures, and their enthusiasm is obvious. I think this place is going in the right direction - a great pub, with good beer and food, and a warm welcome. Well done! Walker Paul
