Great Food
I have been here on 6 occasions now and every meal I have had has been excellent - its great pub food, obviously cooked fresh and using good quality ingredients. Hot, well cooked and reasonably priced. I have been on a sunday lunchtime as well as in the evenings and they are now doing themed nights which have also been great fun! Worth travelling to.

We popped into the red lion last night , went for the special menu, 2 homemade steak pies & a bottle of wine for £19.50 the meal arrived within 10 minutes and was excellent , lots of buitiful tender steak, home-made chips , garden peas and a bottle of white wine, I would recomend it to anyone, Hope to pop in again during the year to enjoy the countryside around the pub.

Awful

After meeting our friends in the area we decided to go to the local pub for an evening meal. We have previously dined here a couple of years ago in 2009 and had a lovely time. However, this time round we could not have been more dissapointed. We were first greeted by a single member of barstaff who was chatty and polite but who was obviously overworked, for good reason as they were the only member of staff present on a busy night. We ordered off a seemingly pleasent menu but were thoroughly underwelmed as what arrived was an over cooked and cold plate of chips with a measly portion of "pan fried chicken in parma ham" on the side. After mentioning our dissapointment to the only member of staff available, our food was returned to the kitchen, from which a chorus of profanities was heard, seemingly directed at the staff member, which was very unpleasent to hear. Our food was returned, in a still sub-standard condition but as it had been over an hour since we ordered we just ate it. At the end of the evening whilst paying our bill, the land lady walked through the bar, who was rude and abrupt to both the staff member and ourselves (at mention of our disatisfaction with the food). The new managment this pub is under seems to have put the Red Lion into a downward spiral, I for one will never be eating there again.

Disgusting Food

Not a good experience whatsoever. We visited for a family occasion recently and had an awful time. The service was appalling and the food inedible (very expensive too!) we chose this restaurant as we went here in 2008 and it was beautiful but has since had new owners take over in Dec 2009 and all I can say is what a pity that they have ruined such a lovely pub!!

We had a lovely meal here recently. It's different from your normal pub in that it serves fresh food for fabulous prices! Great atmosphere and friendly staff - Highly recommended!!!
