Superb!
  10 / 10
I used to live in Hayes and now I come back to go to the New Inn because it's so good. The decor is really stylish and modern its perfect for drinks with friends in the day or evening. The food is excellent especially the Sunday roast I have had the shared roast platter of whole chicken or lamb many a time (not to myself!) and it is superb. I go there for dinner or drinks especially when the weather is nice as you can sit outside in their stunning beer garden. They also have an amazing live events venue upstairs on the top floor that hosts brilliant nights out like cabaret and dinner and dance.

not the best service!
  2 / 10
firstly i would like to say that the image of the new inn is very modern. it is much improved!!! i have worked in pubs and restaurants for 8 years and i have to admit i was disppointed in the service that my table received. if someone asks for a glass of wine the waitress should never assume they want a 250ml. that will put the driver over the limited straight away without even realising it!! the food looked better than it tasted. the waitress didnt come and check to make sure the food was ok, only when we finish did they ask and by that point it was too late to complain. the last thing i have to say is that it was far too noisy! having the bar and eating area that close together is just silly. the noise from the bar carried over to the restaurant area and my table felt like it was a shouting match between us, other tables and the drinkers!!

First Impressions
  2 / 10
I just telephoned The New Inn to get some details regarding having a party of 15 - 20 people have a meal there on a Sunday. The person that answered the phone (who I later discovered was the manager) was abrupt and non-interested. I said I was calling as the menus for the establishment was not on the website and I wanted to clarify what type of food, menu prices were available - he replied unapologetic that the menus were being changed that's why they were not on the site and that they did Sunday roast on a Sunday with selected or set menus. I asked if he had a written format I could pop in and have a look at which he said would be ok. He then passed me to a colleague to make a reservation. I said I had a party of 15 to 20 people 2 of which are children. She asked if they were under 5 years old I said yes one is who is a 1 year old baby. I was told that their policy is that they do not accept children under 5 in the pub!!?? Couldn't be bothered to argue that we would not be in the pub but the dinning area etc as the initial phone reception was extremely poor.

Work on service!
  5 / 10

The new inn is a very nice looking establishment and it seems that the owners care about there image.

We had gone there for a meal on Saturday evening we didnâ??t have to wait long until a waitress offered as a table and they took our order reasonable quickly and our meal arrive quite quickly also, the food was good and the portions was good and the price was reasonable.

Once we finish or meal we waited for in excess of ten probably twenty minutes for service I was actively looking to get one of the three waitress attention for ten minutes in that time I noticed there were only nine groups of tables seated and three waitress so only three tables for each to keep a eye on.

When observe one of the waitress serve the kitchen staff cups of coke I decided eventually to got up and stop one of them at the kitchen door and pleasantly said we have been waiting for at least ten minutes for service or acknowledgment and requested she bring the bill, there was no attempt to apologise or any sign of caring she soon after come with the bill and again nothing.

Good manners cost nothing to deliver but bad manners will cost them my repeat business in the dinning area.

Nice!
I visited the New Inn on Wednesday evening with three of my girlfriends. It was our first time and thankfully we decided to ignore some of the reviews we had read. It was reasonably busy. We had booked a table for four people at 8pm. The table was ready for us and we were shown to it by a very friendly young lady. Starters was a shared whole camembert with a selection of breads which arrived piping hot and looking very attractive. Two of us had Chicken, one lamb noisette and one steak. All of the food presented was very nicely cooked and well seasoned with the steak being the star performer. It was cooked just as it had been requested - medium rare. The staff were very attentive but not overpowering. Water was brought to the table with lemon and ice and the coffees we ordered were absolutely fine. We had two bottles of white wine with our meals and it came to £24 each which I think was extremely good value for a nice meal in a very pleasant restaurant. No under 5 year old policy a very good idea. There are plenty of Harvester and other chain restaurants that cater for people with children. There were lots of people in the bar area just having a drink which was also nice to see. On the whole, I would definitely go back. I would definitely recommend it if you are in the area. It just goes to show really that you shouldn't go by reviews as they can be very unreliable. I think they may have had some teething troubles in their first month but it certainly seems to tick most of the boxes you would expect from a bar/restaurant. The decor is also very nice and subtle.
