About
Welcome to The Kings Arms Montacute. The Kings Arms Inn near Yeovil is located in the delightful countryside of South Somerset in the heart of Montacute a small picturesque village well known for its use in the filming of 'Sense and Sensibility'. What many other people do not know is that the village has its own local quarry producing golden ham stone of which much of the village is made; a rich and colorful history evident in many of the local buildings in addition to masses of unspolied scenery. The 17th Century Inn nestles at the bottom of a steep hill which some think helped the village find its modern day name. The Kings Arms offers 15 en-suite bedrooms most with exquisite views of South Somerset; a restaurant that serves everything from light bites to mouth watering 3 course meals and a bar with an open roaring log fire relaxed atmosphere and plenty of friendly locals. The Hotel is a 30 minute train ride40 drive to the Sea Events of the Olympics 2012. (from laterooms.com)

Amazing
  10 / 10
I went to stay in the lovely Montacute village, in somerset and stayed in a perfect hotel next to a beautiful church and surroundings. we look at quite a few hotel to stay at but this one stood out from the rest. I was greeted by the new owners with a smile and a warm welcome, i could just tell by this that my stay was going be pleasent. The place had been completly refubished in January this year. The food was AMAZING and the service second to none i would highly recommend anyone to visit

Poor value and bad service
  1 / 10
I stayed one night in March 2009 as a single person. The website mentioned it had been refurnished which is why I booked it, as I had stayed there a year previously and it wasnt at all good. This pub is still badly run, has ugly tired rooms with 1980s decor and unhelpful and unapologetic staff. It was also very expensive: £85.00 for a single person. Not even free shampoo or bath products, no hairdryer and miserable pre packaged buns & croissants for breakfast. The front door bell didnt work and I was left waiting outside for ages, none of the staff seem to really care and complained to me feeling tired. If you can possibily help it dont stay here, it is dreadful. This is sad as it has a good location next to the pretty church and the truely beautiful Montacute House is just a few paces away; a wonderful Elizabethan National Trust House. If you need to stay at Montacute, the other pub the Phelips Arms is much better value and has better rooms.
