If you fancy a really nice meal either in the week or at the weekends, I would recommend The Kings Arms in Eccleshall. The landlord used to have a butchers in Eccleshall and so knows a thing or two about good meat and homemade pies.
The carvey on a Sunday is very good value, I booked when we went which was good because unlike some carvey's where they 'pack 'em in' they will only take a certain amount of diners to make sure the quality of the food remains high and that you can enjoy your meal - which we did. We will be going back very soon.

The Kings Arms is full of old world charm with wonky floors and a mass of original features. The welcome is phenomenal and every attention to detail is observed. A truly memorable stay.

We visited the Kings Arms last month and had a lovely meal in their retaurant. The staff were extremely pleasant and the food was fantastic. We enjoyed a very long afternoon there and was made to feel very welcome. We will be visiting again very soon.

The best thing about the kings arms in Eccleshall is the Sunday roast which is a carvery, and the best I have ever had. the land lord is a X butcher and knows how to pick his meat the veg is all fresh and is not kept in keep worm slop trays.
My had husband and I had are sit down meal which was a roast dinner served to the table and it was an excellent meal and every one enjoyed there food and there afternoon chatting eating and drinking
