What's gone wrong!
  2 / 10
My wife and I recently visited the Stapylton Arms at Hawthorn. We had been there several times over the years but haven't been in for a while as we now live down south. We first went on a Sunday evening (14th August 11). It was closed. We then went on a Tuesday evening and again found it closed but managed to visit the next day. The beers are very expensive, there seemed to be no stock in the cool cabinets behind the bar. I used to drink real ale there. I was told they no longer did real ale. The food we thought was barely passable. Whilst no longer regulars, the pub seems to have gone rapidly downhill. Whilst we will no longer visit the Staplyton Arms we hope that someone can ressurect waht was once a lively venue. I was told that the previous landlord and landlady had retired. Come back and rescue the Stapylton Arms please!

Lovely quiet country pub in a rural location, great home cooked 'pub grub'.I found that the food was really good value for money and the landlord and landlady were very pleasant. definately be going again!
