The Ship Inn

Just been to the Sh1t Inn for dinner.You probably couldn't cook a brilliant roast dinner at home for £5.50 so don't expect this lot to either. We had 3 three roast dinners which ranked as probably the three worst roasts of our lives. Dinner was a poor quality product, possibly a re-heated prepared meal? Stick to scampi & chips if you have to eat here. The front bar was closed at the time of our visit and we had to force our way to the back bar through loud, overweight, slovenly unaccomodating locals. What a shame, this place good be brilliant in the right hands. We'll not return. Instead try the Romper, Horse & farrier, Mcdonalds or frankly any where else!

from the moment i got served by the bar man ,i felt welcomed ,me and boyfriend had a drive out from moston,i felt relaxed and comfortable.i never usually do,was going in for half but ended up having 3 halves,!nice and cosy ,clean,friendly .even though it was our first time in ,we felt part of the pub.buttycup

This pub Is not to bad as pubs go.
You can have a quiet drink most nights, that's because not a lot of people go in to the place.
As for the people well you have amoss who is a retired city fan (or he nerly is retired ),
With mr ears and the rest of the dogey city fans.
Just kidding, it is a verry good pub with good beer and food , a quiet pub out of the way of all the
Pubs with bother in them .
Just one more thing I think stevo should get a pay rise to get a bic razor .

Both the food and the service are well below standard. We were a party of two. We ordered a meal and a drink each and were charged £15.47, staff obviously ignoring the advertised policy of 2 meals for £10 (within which offer we had made our selection). Never mind. We waited for 25 minutes and nothing happened although the place was fairly quiet (mid-afternoon). The cook came out at some point on his way to the storage room, and returned with a bag of deep-frozen chips and one of deep-frozen peas in one hand, wiping his nose with the other hand. We enquired about our food at the bar and were told the 'he'd check', but nothing happened for another ten minutes. When we were about to leave and ask for a refund a lady announced that the food war ready. It took another ten minutes, and the half-cooked chips arrived with the rest of the dish, obviously microwave heated pre-fab (except for the fresh salat). We complained to the waitress but were ignored. No word of apology or offer of compensation. We left and were followed outside by the supervisor who accused us of 'picking on the woman because she is weak' (he forgot that we had also complained to him, twice, but he did nothing). Rude, unpleasant, and above all thoroughly incompetent in running a restaurant.
