Wonderful food
  10 / 10
What a lovely "fishy" month July was at The Parsonage! First there was The Lobster Feast - out of this world! - and then there was Seafood and Champagne. It was all beautifully cooked and well presented and it was such an experience to taste so many different types of fish! A big "thank you" to Wayne, Diane and all the staff for all your hard work and for looking after everyone so well.

I am recommending this delightful restaurant to all my friends.

Service at The Parsonage
Have often dined at this restaurant and always found the proprietor, his wife and staff charming attentive and pleasant. I can only suspect the reason for those reviewers complaining thereof arose their own boorish behaviour towards those serving them at The Parsonage. Perhaps they should consider this before whingeing about perceived poor service

Throughly recommended
  10 / 10
I have to say having visited the parsonage recently, i throughly disagree with the last two reviews.

My husband booked a meal for his sons wedding, i would like to say how much we appreciated the care and attenction, which enabled it to go really well.
It was arranged very last minute but the event was so professionally carried out, the staff were attentive but in the background and the food was excellect and they accommodated meal changes without fuss.

Some of the guests have recommed the restaurant to friends as somewhere that is really good.

Good food disappointing service
  2 / 10
Food was very good, though overpriced for what was actually delivered.
The service was terrible. Started off well but went sharply downhill. Even had cause to get up and complain to the matre'd and was then entertained with a performance from him that Basil Fawlty would have been proud of. Very rude and dismissive, very unprofessional generally - including tidying away the table before we had finished eating.
For the price charged, one expects so very much more.

Very disappointing
  4 / 10
We recently went to the parsonage to celebrate my husband's birthday and we were extremely disappointed. Although the food was delicious and the restaurant itself is beautiful, the service was appalling. The staff were inattentive and cold and felt as though they were trying to rush us through our meal, which is not something I expect when paying £40 a head. Furthermore after ordering an expensive bottle of chablis the waitress spilt a good glass's worth of wine on the table and didn't even offer to mop it up or give us a free glass of wine. If you like service without a smile then this really is the place for you. The staff were also dressed quite casually for a fairly upmarket restaurant which seemed quite inappropriate. We were hoping that this restaurant would become a regular place for us to dine, however we will sadly never be going there again.
