White Hart Inn

My family and I visited the White Hart in Llanddarog in September 2010.

We had a young child of 2 with us and shortly after taking our seats we noticed that there was a substantial amount of food on the floor beneath us. Finding this inappropriate and not wanting to sit in food we placed a request with the waitress to clear what was beneath the table.

We were ignored on 3 occasions by this member of staff â?? my mother requested a dust pan and brush so that she could remove the food herself! Finally, we approached another member of staff to clean our area. We were told that the cleaner would attend in the morning! When we said that this was unacceptable we were told â??not to be so sillyâ??!

We found this utterly unacceptable and stated that we werenâ??t prepared to pay top class prices to sit in a sty (itâ??s very expensive). We took our drinks to the bar area prior to leaving to dine somewhere civilised.

Whilst we were finishing our drinks the staff members convened at the bar to laugh with 2 other staff members at our objections. I found this absolutely outrageous and so approached the bar and requested to speak with the manager or owner. I was informed (defensively and sarcastically) that there was no manager (which is all too apparent). When I registered my complaint with the ladies behind the bar I was accused of having requested oneâ??s daughter to pick food off the floor! You get the picture â?? these people are impossible, dirty and outrageously rude whilst offering no customer service whatsoever.

I don't know where to start on the White Hart.
I've visited a lot of establishments in my time, but I've never met such rude hosts in my life. It was absolutely disgusting.
As for the food, the portions are average, but the food was cold. We had microwaved mushrooms on the very poor steak, and the chips weren't hand cut as stated on the menu, but were frozen and twice cooked.
As for the beef dinner, the beef wasn't cut off a joint, but was uniform slices that had been processed.
But overall, it's the attitude of the owners that really sticks in my throat (a bit like their food).
VERY POOR.

well where do i start mmmmmmmm........... 1. the service laughable, i think my 17month old had more manners 2. prices. i could understand if it was the angel vaults in town but £10 for toasted sandwich, chips and a coke, what sort of place do you think you are ritz????? 3. when did you last change the oil in your chip pan how many years or are we talking decades????? 4. when was the salad prepared hows many days before???? even my rabbit would turn its nose up at the dried out mess on the plate. 5. cellophane wrapper. when do toasties come in a cellophane wrapper um i think NEVER. could at least taken it out of bag and cut in half at least. cant be too difficult you have got knifes in your kitchen or is it more washing up to do???? 6. dirty. do environmental health inspect????? beacause your place was dirty, doesnt take much to hoover and dust away the cobwebbs. 7. all in all dreadful,overpriced, overrated and a waste of time and money. id rather go to mcdonalds!!!!!! Dont bother ever going here it will put you off toasties for life. if i were to rate this i would give it -5 stars as in negative 5

We made a point of stopping at this pub & brewery on our route home after a week in Wales. My wife & I, together with our 10 year old twin boys were pleased with the quality of the food , it was good fresh homely fare although the menu was almost to fulsome in it's range. I enjoyed the ales they brew sufficiently to take a few pints with me to the in-laws - they didn't last the night ( the ales, not the in-laws). However, although the prices were generally reasonable but not cheap, I did feel somewhat aggrieved to be charged £4 a pint - for milk! So although this inn would be a great spot to dine with you family, you may want to think twice if your children prefer milk to fizzy pop.

on the 10 november I celebrated my birthday at the white hart it was excellent. when we arived we were greeted as we entered, this made me feel welcome, I noticed they brewed their own beer so that was me sorted it was fantastic. we sat down to study the large menu, we came to a decission and I went to order, the man behind the bar advised us to have chips with our welsh black beef steak as they were real not frozen (good advice as they were fab) we only had a short wait and we semed to have anough food for an army and all freshly cooked infront off us in the open plan kitchen, the food was so good we ate it all and had a small rest before our pudding. great food great beer great atmosphere great welcom from the staff I will be back
