Strawberry Duck Excels
  10 / 10
Fantastic food in a really nice pub. The starter of scallops on black pudding with buttered mash potato was really succulent and cooked to perfection whilst the battered haddock, chips, and mushy peas was the best I can remember having. Really light batter and perfectly cooked fish. My sister had the scampi and was equally impressed. Washed down with a cracking pint of Timothy Taylors, I definitely recommend the all new improved Strawberry Duck!

Only went for the real ale and it was on top form. Only trouble is getting there with a train every hour. the scenery is beautiful around the area. The food looked ok but did'nt have any.

Disapointed
  2 / 10
Went here for lunch. We have been before and had no problems. On this occasion though, we sat in the restaurant and were treated to foul, loud language and blaring music coming from the kitchen. My wife having ordered fish and chips (Lasagne un-available) discovered a short black hair in her meal. The bar lady was very appologetic and offered a alternative or refund for the meal....we took the refund. It seemed very un-proffesional.
