Not welcoming and food was cold!!!
  1 / 10
After waiting 1 hr for our meals we were very dissapointed!!! The tables were sticky and the place was unwelcoming!! I had the Sunday roast (beef), the beef was like leather and most of it I had to leave because it was so fatty and I couldn't even chew it. No one came to say if we were happy with our meals. When the lady collected our plates she asked if all was ok, I said no look at all this fat! She asked me what it was and I said Beef!! She said OH!!! AND THAT WAS IT!!! no sorry or anything!!! The mash potatoes were lumpy and tasted weird!!The pudding came and I had Apple crumble which was cold!! Again no one came to say if it was ok, I was going to ask her to warm it up but as I was so hungry I ate it.

Would I go again???? NO!!

Xmas 2010
Took a party of 20 for Xmas Lunch during Dec 2010. No heating on, we had to wear our coats the whole time we were there. Food served cold with jugs of hot thick gravy! Had to complain four times before a very small discount was given which didn't make up for the disappointment. Hope they get their act together for 2011, but we will be going somewhere else.

ok venue, bad bad food
  1 / 10
My first impression on walking into the venue was a nice country pub, however on entering it was a little unwelcoming. There was no greeting or direction to tables or on ordering food. After finding our own table and sat down I soon noticed dirty place-mats were food was hardened into them and a sticky table.
The menu did display a reasonable choice and I was very impressed with the kids menu although when I asked simple questions like was the chicken baguette warm or cold they could not tell me.
I ordered garlic mushrooms to start and they were very hard and withered up as if they were last weeks reheated up several times..... and not garlic in the slightest. Just when I thought the food could not get any worse our main dishes came which were again hard withered up burnt 'chips' which were in fact more potato wedges, and a cold chicken baguette (after the 'waitress' asked the 'chef' if it was warm and my answer was yes it is warm!) Our other main dish consisted of nothing but grease which they called a mixed grill, the 'chips' which again were hard, burnt and withered up. The 'steak' was very very well done after asking for rare! The kids meal was yet again burnt, hard and withered up 'chips' and a pizza that looked like tesco value frozen mini pizzas which was rubber with overheated beans.
After we finished our 'food' we waited for someone to come and clear the table our check if everything was OK but of course it never happened.
I was hugely disappointed at the service, food and cleanliness of this venue and made sure my complaint was heard however I did not receive anything in return but a faint 'oh'
