I recently went to this garage for a MOT and a service, straight away I felt at ease in an area where my knowledge is not the best. Cars are not my strong point. The staff were very polite and helpful throughout my wait and couldn't do enough to explain the process of everything that had to be done on my car. After the MOT, I was shocked but also surprised that it only cost me £32 for my MOT repairs when I was expecting it to be a lot more. I've recommended this garage to others and they also have been happy with the service they provided.I was even told that if I have any queries in the future don't worry and just give them a call and they will be happy to help. A lovely garage.

This is a quaint enough old pub, but having been here a couple of times now I really believe that the landlord's main sport is taking the mickey out of customers. It seeems that no matter what you say to him, he'll answer with a smart alec remark - such as belittling your choice of drink (as happened first time I went there).

On my latest visit, when I asked whether there was apple pie for desert, his reply was "Is it on the dessert board? No? Then we don't have it! We have bells on the sign outside the pub but we don't sell them!"

When I turned away bemused, still trying to figure out why that last comment was in the least bit relevant, the other members of my party who had witnessed this were horrified to see him stick two fingers up at me behind my back!

What a wonderful way to get repeat business - learned at the Basil Fawlty Finishing School for Landlords, presumably?

Oh, and the food is very tasty (mostly)...but it gave me the runs all night!

Bottom line: I won't be going back, and I wouldn't touch the place with the proverbial bargepole if I were you!

From the moment I went inside I knew Rodett was the right place for my children - it has a 'much loved' feel about it and an authenticity that I felt was lacking in other centres that I'd visited.
The children were all engaged in play, staff were interacting with them and there was an atmosphere of busyness yet calmness. I have now known the pre-school for over 2 years and can better understand why I value it so much. Rodett has a wonderful team of committed, experienced and highly skilled staff who have been with the pre-school for years and have fostered its family atmosphere. The staff know my children, they know them individually and they know them well enough to understand that although they're similar in lots of ways they are also fundamentally different and need a different approach to nurture them. And this is what I LOVE about Rodett - my children are nurtured. Added to this, my children and I have both made great friendships here through the various events and opportunities to get involved.

Where do I start havnt been treated so badly in all my life ! Went there for my b'day with family and ordered a fillet steak when it came out I was served a rump steak when I complained to the waitress she argued that was what I ordered when I new full well I ordered a fillet steak she took it back and was quite rude but said I would have to wait for a fillet to be cooked which I was happy to do but when it came back it was another rump folded over with mushroom in the middle which I complained again to which I was told it was a fillet that I received ! We could hear the chef swearing in the kitchen saying what do I expect when I order a rump so called for the manager and said what had happened expecting them to sort it out but was left with rude waitresses so I was left with no food ! So we decided to just pay the bill and leave much against our wishes with being so badly treated has we did so the waitress chucked our change down on the table all in change and called my father a p**** ! To which we were disgusted and DONT RECOMMENED THIS PUB TO ANYONE !!!

how can any one apart from the jealous people reporting on this venue to be rude and rubbish, its become a far better eatery and drinking place now the new owners have taken over, any bad comments regarding this beautiful pub should be taken with a pinch of salt, try it yourself you not be disappointed, we would highly recommend it, and will be returning in the near future, good luck....

I had heard good reports about this coffee shop. I popped in with a friend and got a warm welcome, the staff seem very friendly. The coffee shop is in a beautiful old stable building. We had a smashing panini and a coffee, we then both somehow managed to sneak in a mouthwatering piece of homemade cake too!! :^) The atmosphere was relaxing and we had a good time.

Han is really cool. New Malden has been crying out for a place like this. VIP Karaoke Rooms, funky cocktail bar, good music and some of the best Oriental food I've had in a long time.

It is customary to share the dishes at the table, I recommend the Vegetable Tempura, grilled sweet beef skewers, prawn skewers and scallope skewers. The hotpots are nice too, I tried Tofu. The food goes down a treat and the Karaoke rooms are state-of-the-art. Enjoy!

A top class restaurant. Contrary to very early reviews I believe this establishment is now achieving the highest standards. Service, presentation and ultimately the food were all simply excellent. Do yourself a favour, if you are local forget traveling to a good restaurant, it is on your doorstep, if you live a distance away, make the effort to travel and give yourself a real treat.

Situation, wedding celebration buffet.
Needed, delicious finger food with no effort.
Solution, appetizing platters of sandwiches and nibbles delivered in plenty of time. The presentation of the food was top rate and there was more than enough for the fifty or so guests. The sandwich fillings were particularly commented upon as they were so fresh, and the chicken goujons were exceptionally tasty. Thank you ladies it was wondrful.

I have always felt myself valuable and prompt to make efforts to advance my knowledge. Nevertheless, I was persuaded that I would have spent my entire working life in Italy wherein Intellectual Property and innovation are usually not a priority, especially in pharmaceuticals. Thanks to Adamson and Partners, however, my life suddenly changed and now I work as a patent attorney in a big pharmaceutical company in Paris. Here, I have found an extremely motivating and rewarding environment, where I can develop my team-oriented and international attitudes at its best.
- European Patent Attorney

Went to holy bank on Saturday afternoon for a treat with my aunt,as we had a family bereavement and i wanted some place good to take her for a meal.
On arriving we were seated drinks were ordered and then forgotten about, so we were asked again for our order. The starter I had mushroom with garlic , which were hot, my aunt had the prawn starter. She said the prawn tasted very vinegary and off, but being polite had eaten half of them, as she couldn't eat them because of the taste. Her main choice was lasagne which was more like thick stodgy pasta with no meat hardly, and very very dry, it came with a side salad and boiled egg planked on top! ..the chips were cold. I had chicken balmoral, the chicken was cold and the haggis slice was piping hot..so I left this as I didn't like to eat cold chicken, very very disappointed to say the least, and after our meal my aunt took food poisoning and ill all weekend, I phoned to complain to David the manager, I have been a air hostess for over 15yrs, my aunt has a cafe, and his denying her upset and mine..he offers a free drink... but nothing more..or a bottle of wine next time, to be fair I think I will need more than a bottle of wine to return there ever again. As for customer service this time ...your joking right!!! food for thought .. thank-you but no thanks.

Filling Intellectual Property positions in industry with external candidates has become a most difficult challenge. When needing an experienced and qualified Intellectual Property person to fill a position in our organisation in Belgium, our expectations of being successful were therefore not very high. However, Adamson and Partners provided us with a choice of several potential candidates of the right calibre, enabling us to appoint a most suitable person to this strategically important position within a year. We would highly recommend Adamson and Partners to any company seeking candidates in the field of Intellectual Property.

The Boot Inn has great character from the outside and on entering had a lovely log fire to welcome us on a cold evening and a warm friendly greeting from the barmaid who was more than happy for us to move a table closer to enjoy the fire.

Despite being very quiet for a Saturday evening we enjoyed a good meal serving up good traditional pub grub. The portions were generous and we had a delicious 8oz rump steak (£15) and chicken (£10). A good selection of desserts @£6 but the main course filled us up! Nice selection of ales and bitters on tap.

Some interesting pictures showing the history over the years in Houghton and a collection of displays of fish caught locally. Definitely worth a visit and some great walks on the doorstep.

This restaurant is an absolute joke.......8 of us went out for my Mums 60th birthday, it was in walking distance for us all to get to, we all arrived at 7.30pm, a drinks order was taken about 15 mins later......40 Min's later we all got our drinks, they took our first order from the buffet menu, we said we will have everything but the stuffed crab claws for the starters.....Hmmm, well, we got 2 plates with enough food on it to feed about 3 people,(this is an all you can eat buffet) also the food was cold, this was now the 2nd time we'd complained, firstly the time it took for the drinks to arrive and then this, on complaining to the manager who by the way is some what rude, arrogant, and up himself said "OK I'll be back" so, expecting then some more food to come out hot, we waited a further 40 minutes and he never returned.....we then went to complain for a 3rd time, the waitress who we can only presume is the managers wife said "any more problems you talk to me and i will sort it" then totally insisted because of all these problems we should have the duck as another course for us all......we ALL said that we didn't want duck as none of us like duck.......this fell on very deaf ears and was forced upon us, at this point we are so hungry and fed up, that we try to order more food from the buffet main course.......bare in mind here 8 people ordered 3 dishes each plus rice/noodles/chips and again 40 mins later the food came out, but was only enough to feed 3 people if that , Again not all of the dishes arrived and they can only be described as disgustingly salty and totally not edible, we had been given cold plates of which most of them were dirty and by this point we were losing the will to live and now are on the verge of walking out. We complained yet again, and yet again nothing was done about this......WE ALL WALKED OUT WE DIDN'T PAY THE BILL AND WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THE NEW MING COURT EVER AGAIN. The managers wife insisted that we paid the bill and wouldn't accept that the service had been utterly appalling, she followed us out of the restaurant still trying to get us to pay the bill, i think at this point i should add that another table of people walked out the restaurant about 10 mins before us also complaining, the managers wife tried to tell us they'd decided to go to the pub first..........then why did they leave 3 pints of lager and glasses of wine on the table to go to the pub???.
I have to say that on the rare occasion that we all get together and go out you want to have a good meal, if you like a restaurant that is more like Fawlty Towers then this is the place to go, if not then stick to MAY SUM in Derby.
On walking out of the restaurant there was a child in a checked apron who came out of the kitchen, he couldn't have been more than 10yrs old if that, could that be the reason this whole evening was an absolute sham, as my headline says and i will stick to that AVOID AVOID AVOID, THIS WILL NOT BE SOMEWHERE I RECOMEND ANYONE TO GO TO!!!!!

Lovely food, both cantonese and chinese are both very good. Not too spicy but nice and tasty. Really friendly staff and very quick too.
I think its a little unfair to give a poor review just because the driver failed to deliver on one occassion - see previous reviewer - the fact it was the 4th time of ordering surely suggest that the quality of food must be good or you wouldnt have ordered again and again. Main meal dishes are served in the larger type cartons, and whilst not the cheapest chinese around, the value for money is reasonable.

Curry powder and water is the basis of their curry. Bit too hot for a chinese. Not really very nice at all although the cantonese dishes are a bit better. I live very close to this takeaway but prefer to travel 6 miles to another establishment. Maybe its just my personal taste though.

I am a regular customer who eats at a wide range of restaurants, and I go back to this Inn because of the friendly family service we first received and always receive.

Excellent freshly cooked food should meet every type of palette. The fact that the food is freshly cooked and offers a wide range of specials, especially the fresh fish dishes, is why service can be slower than the average microwave establishments at peak periods..

The negative comments on this site only lead me to assume the contributors are either vindictive or from competitiors as ratings of 1 and 2 stars are ridiculous and should be ignored!

Once you are through the door and at the bar , that's the hard bit over . Then you're in .... real fire , 50+ ciders , range of lagers and ales , Indian restaurant upstairs and you can eat take away downstairs . Dogs , Kids , Jukebox and live folk , funk and Dad Rock , loads of great characters oh and yeah , Robert Plant went for a pint there once in his two tone maroon and gold Rolls Royce ( if I got that right ) . Some folk couldn't speak when he walked in and one didn't have a clue who he was , he got chatting when he wanted , but no-one hassled him . If you enjoy life , no two days are the same in The Railway ! I love it !

Never say never ... Oops , just said it twice ! Once upon a time two aliens landed and were very very rude to everyone who wanted to spend their leisure time in The White Hart . Many customers vowed Never to visit again and have stuck to their word . Well they've gone now , it's safe for you to return . You will be greeted with a friendly welcome , lovely great value food and nice ale . The place is polished inside and as always has the great location of stunning views across The Severn and beyond to Gloucestershire ..... on a clear night , one can see the MIlky Way , and I've looked but , those Aliens will ..... what's another word for never ?
Was apprehensive after seeing another review on here but I must assume it refers to a previous landlord.
The current landlord is also named Steve and he also does the cooking.
I found the whole atmosphere to be very welcoming.
With a coal fire in both the lounge and bar areas and, I was informed, new carpeting throughout, the restaurant makes a very nice dining environment which complements the great food (I had a rib-eye steak, cooked perfectly!).
The Pedigree was very good and I can be a bit picky about my beer so that is a recommendation in itself.
The landlord was very friendly and jolly and I found the young lady behind the bar to be pleasant and polite.
Before dining, we did spend half an hour in the bar side of the pub and found the locals to be chatty and friendly and very knowledgable about the area which was of interest to me having just moved into the area.
On the whole, I would heartily recommend a visit if you're ever in the area, whether for the lovely food or just for a pint, a chat and a warm!

I had driven past this pub on a few occasions, so took my partner and a couple of friends there for dinner. The greeting we received was an early indication of the total disregard for polite service that we experienced throughout the meal. We initially thought this may be a dry sense of humour, but it was soon clear that it was just poor manners. We took our seats and proceeded to order. We were hopeful that the food may go some way to forgiving the frosty service, but again we were disappointed. The fish dish was very greasy and full of bones, not to mention cold. My friend had the lamb dish which was chewy and lacking in appropriate seasoning. At the end of the meal, we were tempted to offer some constructive feedback, but though better of it by the scowl on the waitresses face. I don't think we will be returning again.

Maggie before writing negative reviews, consider what you can and can not reasonably expect when only paying c. £4 for a Sunday Lunch. You can not expect great standards in cooking expertise, quantity, quality or ambience.

We recently had Sunday Lunch here, Four adults and two children and our plates were absolutely overflowing, yes the roast meats were icy cold straight out of the fridge but that is much safer than having it constantly reheated throughout the day, a practice of many more expensive establishments. The gravy was rich, piping hot and replenished on request. Serving all day the veg is bound to deteriorate, however we persuaded the kids that the roast potatoes were roast chestnuts and they enjoyed them!

Re. the aggressive attitude of the Landlord, I understand that he is receiving treatment to alleviate the symptoms of his Tourettte syndrome.

When next visiting our Geordie relatives I am sure we will consider returning here..
I have been riding at Holly Riding School for a number of years now and have absolutely loved every minute of it. From absolute beginner to "not too bad if I say so myself" standard. It's a great School - from all the staff to all the horses and ponies. Everyone is catered for from small children to adults. I go at least once a week (much, much, much more if I had the time) and every lesson is fun, organised and informative. It is constantly changed to challenge everyone's level of ability. It is ran very well and an excellent code of practice is followed to keep both riders and our four legged friends safe and happy!!!!! ALL I CAN SAY IS KEEP DOING WHAT YOUR DOING I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted somewhere to do some hacking. Kirkfields is on the edge of Sherwood Forest and has access into the woods without crossing the road. The terrain is excellent and well suited for hacking out. All the horses I have ridden have been lovely. They are far superior to your usual riding school horses as they tend to be thoroughbreds. Having said that, they are safe rides, which go forward when you want them to and stop when you want them to. What more could you ask for? The place is far from scruffy, which is what another post says. If you want to find out what the place is like go for a visit, you will not be disappointed. This is the best place for hacking in Nottinghamshire.

I should have listened to the first review...

I used to eat regularly at the Naaz years ago, and remember it being pretty good. I just moved back to the area and thought I'd see if it the Naaz was still as good as it used to be. It is not.

My chicken madras was so runny, and when I poured it over the rice I got a great big pool of greasy water round the edge of my plate. There were only 5 small pieces of chicken - and that was so dry it looked like they just microwaved yesterdays leftovers and topped it up with grease to bulk it out. Even the rice was bland and dry! I paid just under a £10 for that one course and a soggy naan, and they didn't even put any of the nice little sundries in that you get from almost every other Indian takeaway.

Definately not going back. Awful.

I've only had equal quality Fish and Chips in Whitby. Superb food. My guess is that the negative comments here are jealous competitors.
All round we rated the Anchor at Pyrford Lock highly. The location right beside the canal was lovely. The food was nicely cooked and reasonably prices. Also the beer was cheaper than many other local hostelries. Table service if you eat inside and if eating outside then you need to order at the bar quoting your table number. At lunch times it does get crowded so get there before 12.30 to ensure you get a table. highly recommended. No public transport so if going by car the pub/restaurant has 2 car parks both free for diners. Be warned if approaching from Pyrford village end there is a very narrow bridge across the canal that is extremely tight for cars to get through.we have seen several get scrapped by not judging the gap correctly.

We did not rate the Sadlers Arms very highly. It gave the appearance of being dirty and certainly the floor could have done with a good clean. As far as the beer was concerned we do not think the pipes were cleaned out properly as it tasted slightly strange but was just about drinkable. Not on lour list to make a return visit.

We had mixed feelings about aspen Flooring. The prices are very competitive and provided one of the partners is present they had excellent product knowledge. On the first occasion we went in there was a more mature lady in charge. She was charming but was obviously only holding the fort as she was unable to give us much helpful information. When we went back on another day one of the partners Shaun was present and we then got good service. The shop is on the small side and for a flooring shop it is a bit dingy and needs much brighter lighting. We did buy in the end after a bit of haggling and were pleased with the end result.

Provided you go for one of the set price menus at the Toby Cottage it is good value. However the A La Carte is expensive. The food is nicely cooked and we found the service to be excellent. When it gets busy expect to wait a while for your food to be delivered to your table. The price of wine is market up considerably and is bordering on the exorbitant. Why they can put a standard bottle of house wine on menu for about £13 is beyond us.. There would still make a considerable profit on each bottle.the price of drinks generally here puts us off returning on a more regular basis.

The food at the Bulls Head is good old fashioned English Cooking. The price is right and the portions are generous. Drinks tends to be higher cost than average. A relaxing place to eat with no music and customers tend in the main to be more mature couples. The pub itself is an old coaching inn and is charming. However it could do with some refurbishment. In the winter is can be draughty and the seating is not the most comfortable. having said that we would return for the food.

I agree with regina2J here. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't like this place! Their food is fantastic and the service is second to none! The girls are delightful and a credit to the place. We come here every Friday nights and sometimes on a Wednesday. We used to live in Greenfield but since have moved to Delph. We have tried other Chinese takeaways that are closer but they just aren't as good! The extra 10mins drive is just worth their great food. For the past year (lucky for us), they have set up a delivery service and we have made full use of that! Loyal customer for years and years to come!

Visited 07/01/2012 Saturday evening with my Partner and 2 Friends. We live reasonably local so thought we'd give it a try.

The interior itself is old, not rustic old, run down old, and needs complete refurbishment, the car park is full of large pot holes and is muddy.

My first large Peroni (£4.20) was lifeless, the second was better, but still not full of life and as cold as Peroni should be.

I had Cod & Chips, it was sloppy, greasy and the mushy peas were from a tin by the look of them. The cod wasn't fresh because it had a fishy (fresh cod should have NO odour) odour and it obviously hadn't been put in hot enough oil. VILE

My Partner had 'pan fired chicken', this was a fried chicken breast with bacon and some mashed potato, served with some lifeless over cooked veg.

Our two Friends had Lasangne with chips, both looked alright - ish, supermarket cafe style.

3 of us had chocolate fudge cake for dessert, this was OK.

The Waitress was reasonably Friendly but not knowledgable. Sauces were brought to the table in grubby 'cash and carry style' sachets - a complete no-no at this level in my opinion.

The glasses of coke were lifeless (typical draught).

When I went to the Gents, there was a young lad running in and out of the kitchen which really let things down some more.

The gents was grubby with and the soap dispenser wasn't working and the hand basin.

The bill for the food and a couple of soft drinks (beers paid for seperately) came to a whopping £78! All four of us were shocked.. This was far too much for the quality of food we received.

I paid with £80 in cash, I was detirmined not to leave a tip so I took the cash personally to the bar, the Waitress gave me my change in front of the (presumed) Landlord and Landlady, neither of which offered a simple 'thank you' or 'goodbye' to the four of us.

The pub was quiet - nobody else eating, just several (presumed locals) at the bar and I can see why! For the record as we were eating, a couple sat down, looked at the menu, glanced round at the surroundings and walked back out.

On reflection I should have raised a complaint before paying the bill. Will never ever be going back again, I hate leaving negative reviews but I have been as truthful as possible, what we got was overpriced junk!

I live about 4 miles from the Crown and I can assure you there are MUCH MUCH better eating pubs in this area at the same price point so go elsewhere!!

I guess Keith Floyd was right - never trust an empty resturant!!

The food is fantastic – fresh ingredients, home made, seasonal, and cooked to an exceptional standard. The presentation is always superb, and value is fantastic.

Indeed, we have enjoyed it so much that we decided to host our wedding lunch there in December (2011). As you can imagine, this was a big day for us and we trusted that Marco and his family would be able to deliver to the standards that we had experienced previously.

In fact… they surpassed any expectation we had. The whole day, meal, service – everything – was flawless. Seriously, we would not have changed a thing. Every dish on every course had family and friends raving about how much they enjoyed it.

In addition to the food, we have always enjoyed the ambience – on this day they excelled themselves. Sambuca is a family run restaurant who truly value their customers and go out of their way to provide you with a great experience.

If you enjoy eating in a relaxed, friendly and welcoming environment – enjoying quality food at a very reasonable price – Sambuca cannot be faulted. We are already planning out return and can heartily recommend that you give it a try too.
Large pub in a quiet street. Parking available and outside seating. Inside, seems divided into two areas, the front area has the seats and tables, the rear area has the pool table. No food served at all. Only one real ale on tap, Bombadier. Friendly staff.
Avoid Nandos if you would like some customer service..!!

I had a terrible meal at Aberdeen Nandos, and a very arrogant supervisor told me that its me making the mistake after being a customer of Nandos for some 15 years.
I complained to the customer service and after a lengthy and expensive phone call giving all the details, i was told someone will call me back...i have been ignored and the complaint has escalated, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE...THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE...I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY 30 YEARS OF VISITING RESTAURANTS...!!

i took the wife and kids to this little pub, i had the steak and ale pie, it was good to see short crust pastry all round the pie and filled with actual meat instead of being in a pot with a puff pastry lid, my wife is a celiac and although they do not have a special menu for celiacs the chef was happy to make sure she was catered for, the chip fryer is only used for real home made chips to stop cross contamination, they even cooked half a gammon as my daughter loves it but can not eat a full 1, we will definately go back when we next visit appleby

My wife and I have been visiting the Spices of Bengal for 15yrs, and of course if you expect fine dining you will be a little disappointed, But to eat good food at a good price, then of the many we have tried around Maidstone /Ashford/Gravesend, we find Charing the Best. I have eaten Indian food in India and it's nothing like the Indian food we get here in the UK. It's a little foolish to expect it to be. Indian food here is adapted to the European palate, unless you go to certain restaurants in Birmingham, Leicester, or the West End of London. We would recommend the food to anyone.

1. Vegetarian meals are much more expensive than in the menu. They specified it in 5 different menus, so you are completely confused and on the and you get the receipt with bigger prices.
2. Beef was not tender, everything was very oily
3. 10% for service written with small letters on menu is impossible to see when you are hungry.
4.You cant take your receipt, I had to ask about copy and specification.
5. Staff mostly don't understand English, you can see a lot of staff but they don't see you....
i love eating at this place because the food is amazing the one thing that does put me off is the attitudes of the chiefs that cut the meat for you. i been here 3 times and on 2 occasions two different chiefs have spoke to me and my husband like were stupid even thou we wasn't actually talking to them on the first occasion my husband commented to me how hot it was whilst waiting to be served and the chief piped up and said " well daaaa you are stud next to to ovens " in a very sarcastic manner which i thought was uncalled for. and on my 3rd recent visit my husband mentioned he was going to have the pork and by accident when asked what meat i wanted i said pork instead of the gammon that i wanted the chief had just picked the knife up to start cutting the pork when i realised what id said and i quickly apologised and said "no sorry i meant gammon" he then looked at me and said " whats up don't you know the difference " also in a very sarcastic manner it wasn't like he had actually cut the meat yet so i hadn't messed him about. other than that this place is great if not better value for money all the other staff are very friendly would recommend west bulls to everyone.

As a visitor over the festive season to Southend on Sea the wife and I took a stroll along the front, called in at your establishment for drinks the attitude of the young lady who came to serve us was to say the least very poor. I can only say that I shall not visit your establishment again this may of course extend to Southend on Sea itself if I find this attitude in other places.
