We stayed at the Abbey Lodge Hotel in Shipley recently. It wasn't the first time we'd stayed there but I have to say this time we absolutely loved it! Previously it'd been a convenient place for us to stay as a base when visiting relatives in the area. It used to be a very adequate and functional B&B, reasonably priced but nothing to write home about! When I rang to book this stay, I spoke to the owner, who remembered me from previous stays (nice touch!) and he told me they'd had a "bit of a re-furb" - well, that really was an understatement! The place had been completely re-modelled and re-vamped and now resembled more of a "boutique hotel" - a very pleasant surprise indeed!... I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and we will stay there again if we're in the area!â??
