About
The Tilbury restaurant and pub is an elegant, award-winning establishment located in the picturesque village of Datchworth near Hertford, Welwyn, Knebworth and Stevenage. Opened in 2006, The Tilbury has been transformed into a country retreat with a modern rustic interior with exposed brick walls, scuffed wooden floors, comfortable leather seating, open fires and a welcoming ambience, enticing local diners as well as visitors to the area. There's a delightful sheltered al fresco terrace as well as wonderful gardens. The Tilbury is owned by telly chef Paul Bloxham and Paul Andrews who have a passion for British cuisine, ethical, local and authentic sourcing, and for creating fine gastropub food from these superb ingredients. The menu ranges from pub classics to Bloxham's own creations inspired by seasonal produce and includes divine home-baked breads. The wine list tends to keep itself in the moderate price range, which matches the pub ambience extremely well, almost all available by the glass. The Tilbury has won a coveted AA rosette for its perfectly-judged food. (from toptable.co.uk)
