About
The Riverside Inn at Aymestrey is a 16th century black and white coaching inn, by the side of the River Lugg in a unique and very special location. Although only fifteen minutes by car from Ludlow and twenty five minutes from Hereford, you are in the heart of unspoilt Herefordshire countryside. We have a range of rooms, twin and double ensuite and our popular suites, one of which opens onto our terraced gardens and the other close to the riverbank. All rooms are individually furnished and decorated, having TV, freshly groung coffee, tea making facilities and minibar stocked with tempting local treats. The suites also have Freeview TV.The bar and restaurant are very traditional with a relaxed informal atmosphere, hanging hops, oak beams, stone walls, stripped pine tables and a log fire. Our food can be described as truly local country style, prepared and served with passion by our head chef Andrew Link and his team. We have won awards for our food at both Ludlow and Hereford Food Festivals, we also have a fierce committment to using local produce. In all, over 40 of the best local suppliers provide the ingredients for our dishes. Everything is freshly cooked. Soups, chutneys, pudding, preserves and ice cream are all made by us on the premises. From your base at The Riverside you can visit five golf courses, the Black and White Villages Trail, historic Ludlow and Hereford, country houses and gardens, heritage sites, breweries, cider presses and cheesewrights. A myriad of circular walks, ranging from three to fifteen miles are all on our doorstep, details available from Richard.Dogs are welcome, please let us know they are coming. (from laterooms.com)
